    Well, I made a update of the SoB logo, now with "Daughters of Betsy" added for the 2010 WPS team:

    Re: The SoB logo/crest recently changed/updated?

    Daughters of Betsy need their own logo, and the SoB logo is good the way it is.

    The DoB need their own identity. Some SoB might join, but it will most likely be an entirely separate audience with different sensibilities.

    Well, you know what they say on the Golden-Road.net boards:

    "YOU CAN'T STOP THE DoB!"

    How about Babes Of Our Betsy? BOOB! It would apply to those "sensibilities" that Bryan previously mentioned.

    Brandi Chastain and her sports bra should be in the logo.
    (isn't it curious that Brandi starts with b-r-a? coincidence? I think not.)

    Well it's uncanny like. If you analyze it, the first three letters in "America" are the exact same as the first three letters in the name...

    Suggestion: can we get the WPS ownership to participate in a weekly chat?

    I bet Matt would be amenable to that.

    Problem is, he doesn't have any tech team behind him yet. If it wasn't for the Sons of Ben web guys (mansbro and chadisa), these chats, despite the the fact that they are canned programs purchased for our use, take a ton of resources and testing. Over 60 man hours of testing has gone into our chat server, including Matt calling some 24 hour tech line at midnite last night while we were experiencing system oddities.

    I guess I was saying, he will need people as dedicated as we are to Philly MLS for his new venture to make something like that happen. While it looks free from the outside, there is some serious capital (money and/or time) being spent by Sons of Ben making this happen.

    I've been meaning to chime in on this. But the MLS Supporter's Group genesis is a big undertaking.....there's lot's to do over the next year and a half. As Opening Day 2010 comes along there's also going to be some bumps in the road, and the SoB's will need to adapt.

    Having a direct companion group is not going to double problems, but increase them by at least an order of magnitude.

    I think it's great that many want to support both teams, but a separate leadership structure (with friendly ties with the SoB's, and lessons learned) will likely be better to run with the new team.

    Well, I really didn't want to bump the subject, but how about this:

    [IMG]

    Brief explainations:
    • The 13 stars and 13 stripes (on the skull) from the flag, which was supposed to have been sewed by Mrs. Ross;
    • The banners in light blue and Vegas Gold, lettering and other elements in red, white and blue and Vegas Gold shield trim, with Liberty Bell in light blue;
    • Calson Antique Italic used for group name and motto to differentiate SoB from DoB.

    Any questions or comments?

    I like it, but would suggest a new Latin phrase...

    Thank you JamesTaylor for the new motto for DoB...

    [IMG]

    The Latin translation being "She who dares wins." And forgive me for the different shades of light blue. I failed to keep my original copy of the shield on my program.
