So as Jason asked, exactly what evidence do you have that we had a chance to get Bruce other than he must have been available for someone since he wound up at LA? Sure, we and anyone else could have. Did the FO consider it? Did they try? Did they offer and he declined? Could someone close this so more saps like me wouldn't jump into this thread thinking there is meaty news only to find a weak statement of the obvious?
If you go back to read threads from the time after the WC, I think you will find that there was very little appetite for a return of Bruce Arena.

Now this is truth. In my younger years (like 30+ years ago) I had a chance to meet Ricardo Montalbán's daughter. I met him at a party my dad was giving and we immediately hit it off. He wanted me to meet her, but I had a plane to catch the next day. I have no idea whether that was a mistake or not. I don't even know which daughter he was talking about.
