Oh how we have all suffered.

MLS, A-League, and European fans alike have lived under a shroud of darkness since 2001. That was the day the proverbial music died.

The Raleigh Express were still in existence. Sheffield Wednesday remained in the Premiership. SSV Ulm were a top-flight German side with a funny name. The Toronto Lynx were only beggining to perfect their ass-sucking routine. And Dominic Mobilio still had a career.

‘Twas the last year that Wosoman received its last update.

The North Boys® understand the plight of MLS, A-League, and European fans alike. In no other game will you have a chance to test your Metrostars in Champions League competition against Atletico Madrid and Werder Bremen. Where else can you coach the Tennessee Rhythm to a respectable 20th place in the A-League? In what other simulator can Canadian fans edit the game in order coach their favourite team in the MLS? And lets admit it. Wosoman is the only way for Canadians to ever see their team in the World Cup.

We’re emotional guys. The North Boys® understand.

We miss the day when Mark Fish was rated as one of the world’s top defenders. We abhor the thought of not being able to keep Barnsley in the Premier League.

    We want to help.

The North Boys® want to resurrect the venerable Wosoman Management Simulator. Or should we say stimulator. We spent many hours coaching its teams, many days mastering its competitions, many months winning its cups, and many years wondering why all the Russian players were so darn good.

    We want these days back!

If given the means, the North Boys® would be more than willing to provide regular, pro bono roster updates. We will update promoted and relegated clubs. We will edit the international rosters. Heck, if given the means we’d even add to game. (We might be Canadians, but even we're not sure if we’re that good.)

Please sign below with your post to indicate your support for this measure.

Unite with the North Boys® in our northern solidarity to bring back Wosoman to its past glory.

I'm for it! As long as there's some semblance of objectivity in it, of course. Let's not have Canada beating everyone else in CONCACAF by 3-0 and 4-0 scores...

Actually I would also be willing to assist with the updates after mid-February.

I am all for it too.

When Dan stopped updating the players and teams, I took it upon myself to update it with a UGE. Needless to say I had quite a few aborted attempts.

Updating the logos was easy. My last update earlier this year had all the new teams in the MLS and A-League to include a Houston Chivas. :)

Editting the team names was less of a problem, but was confined to space of the old team. The UGE would dork up the game if I tried to put space into it. You could always fix the name in the editor.

I also played around and figured out how to put the team into the correct divsions (MLS), raise their relative strength (free agency/financial) to Europe's and increased their slots in the WOSO Cups. :)

I just have to resurrect my files from my HD of my old dead CPU.

I'd just like to add that I'd be willing to handle most of the African and Asian national teams - I at least know who the best players are for many of the minnows.

In full support of this project. WoSoMan used to be my procrastination staple. It needs a second coming.

    MLSM IS BACK

Hey guys, your friendly neighbourhood NorthBoys here again.

Here is the announcement you've all been waiting for, or well the first part of it at least.

MLS Manager has been fully updated! Yes, the original soccer manager by Dan R has been brought back in its full 2003 completely updated glory!

Want to download? Head off to www.freewebs.com/northboys/ and click on the 'games' link (note: non-profit, no ads website.. not looking to make cash off of anyone)

Now you too can lead your team glory, your rivals into obscurity playing with a-league rejects, and heck, you can even sabotage Freddy Adu's career!!!!

    Enjoy

As for WOSOMAN, we're considering updating it at a much slower pace due to the extreme scope of it. If you're interested in helping, drop us an e-mail. northboyscanada@hotmail.com

I have updated the teams.dat and logo files for MLS/A-League to include future expansion teams in Cleveland and Chivas to round out the MLS to 12.

All the current A-League teams are in the A-League to include Puerto Rico and Edmonton. Pittsburgh, Charlotte, California, Hew Hampshire and Utah are up from the Pro Select and future teams Ajax Orlando and Oklahoma are current members.

Future Expansion teams (largely my whim), Chicago Sting, Hartford, Memphis, Inter Boston, LA Pumas, Pheonix Rattlers, Real Miami, Detroit Rockers, Houston Toros, Philadelphia Cobras, NY Cosmos and St. Louis Steamers.

If anyone would like them let me know.

Is there any way I can get a copy of the original WoSoMan? I lost mine 2 or 3 years ago. Also, as said before, I am interested in helping out with Asian, African, and some Caribbean national teams.

As I recall, to get a copy of the full version of WoSoMan you had to order it from Dan R (I think I may have even paid some small amount). I too have lost my copy through a chain of hard drive reformats over the years and I'm looking to get a full version again.
