Chivas may have made the worst trade, but they are managing to get by. ;)

Yes they are. Preki for coach of the year in my book, whatever happens from here on out.

Why did DC get 150k? Was that part of the deal or was it just from MLS?

I don't understand what RSL thought they were getting out of this at the beginning. They knew Adu would play in the U-20 WC, and had to think he would've been scooped up as it was rumored forever. Maybe a cheap bump in ticket sales?

Remember too, Ryan, who was coaching RSL at the time of the deal: the one man in MLS who Freddy might deign to give a 100% effort to. RSL thought he might really perform and they might keep him. When the coaching change happened, Adu's days there were numbered no matter what else was going on.

I was surprised that Ives put the Dunivant deal in the Top 5 since it seems like he usually goes out of his way not criticize Arena. If this trade isn't made, you can probably add at least another 5 wins for Red Bulls. Apparently, Arena consulted with Isiah Thomas before making the deal. For some reason, he does not like Dunivant nor Mendes because they're not "his guys".

And yes, Preki is hands down the Coach of the Year.

I've been bummed by that Dunivant trade all season, and as time goes by, I can't but think it was a simple matter of chemistry. Perhaps he requested a trade to Toronto??? Perhaps he would much rather play for MoJo than Arena? Or perhaps Arena just didn't care for the guy?

Months later, and it is just as inexplicable now as then.

The Dunivant move still has me bitter.

Gimme Marvell and Dunivant back in the back and we are at least 10 points better then we are today. Both of these guys were competant in the back and both do well moving forward. Duni and VDB down one side, Marvell and Dane down the other looks like a clear step up to me.

    Brutal move Bruce.

Yes that was part of the deal - DC required a portion of the allocation money if in fact Adu was sold by RSL.
