Do they get an extra fine if they were late (or missed travel completely) because they were buying candy?
LOL....why are people acting so surprised by this??? MOST professional sports teams do this. NFL teams certainly do. This is no different then any other professional organization. In the corporate world they document employees when they don't follow the standards. In the Pro Sports World they fine their employees when they don't follow the standards. This is nothing. Mountain out of a mole hill.
I don't think anyone is surprised they have fines for things. It's the petty nature of some of the fines that is funny. Even if every team has the same restrictions some of them are pretty childish.
I'm cool with being charged $10 to walk around naked. It's one thing to be fined due to RC accumulation, improper attire, etc. THAT helps establish a certain level of professionalism. A penalty for not bringing in treats on your birthday? Cheese Fries, I'm surprised there's not a fine for providing non-peanut free cupcakes.
BTW, the money collected from the fines at the end of the year where does it go? To buy Curtin more tight pants?
So...what happens if the birthday falls in the off season? Do fines accumulate until they return for training camp? If the player transfers away, is the fine included in the transfer cost? What shitty universe has me baking a cake on my own birthday? That's what other people do for you. Does Alberg insist on cutting the cake and hold the knife even though it's CJ's birthday?
When was the last time they did a "Stats on Stats on Stats?" Guess they realized it was a bad idea. Seems to have been replaced with the "Achievement Unlocked" tweets...which are equally as ridiculous.
You mean you don't look forward to JP presenting this week's "F.C. Kerbeck Anecdotal Factoid Bereft of Context Corner"???
Pfft, worst run, schmorst run ... 897804232039911424 is not a valid tweet id The spin doctors are going to have a goddamn field day with this. Hold on to your butts.
The most valuable teams in MLS:1. LA Galaxy 2. Seattle Sounders3. Toronto FChttps://t.co/R32ggtYdMu pic.twitter.com/isBp484ari— Forbes (@Forbes) August 16, 2017 #16, $170mm valuation, if you don't feel like clicking on the link. Atlanta and Minnesota not included. So make that #17. Jay's investment continues to balloon. It was $152mm last year at this time. That an 11.84% increase from the one done last year. Which actually isn't as good as it sounds. It's a cool point below the Vanguard Total Stock Market Mendoza line of 12.86% over the last 12 months. He could have made more money using a passive investment ETF that anybody on here could buy. Owning a sports franchise is a lot cooler than having something you log in to look at every 6 months on eTrade, though.
