Last night I had to do some work and stuff and so I slept late and watched Wings and then after that they showed an episode of Head of The Class. I never watched that show before but do sometimes after Wings. They were doing this episode about doing a video for this time vault they do so that people in the future could see them. The old principal does this normal video and they destroy it because its sucks and decide to do this new video themselve and they preview it fo the principal and say they wanted to make a video that isn't dated. They proceed to show the worst piece of sh** ever seen on TV. Their stupid video not only sucked, was filled with stupid a s s graphics, is as dated as anything I've ever seen, but it was a music video and didn't make any sense. The crowd cheered and I thought everyone who is cheering, should be shot. They they say who its actually good and Im thinking, they should have begged the principal to make a new one. I now hate that show and its arrogance for thinking that crap was good. I think its the worst moment on TV history. What do you all think is the worst or the most stupid moment in history? And I mean of something they created or showed not of a tragedy or something not scripted like when Karl Wallenda died or the Monica Seles or something like that.
I watched the first episode of Survivor a few years ago, and at the 'tribal council' meeting where they have that ridiculous set, and the torches....I mean, is that for real? BEYOND hokey I thought, and people gobbled it up like it was pumpkin pie. I just didn't get the whole big deal and still don't. As I was watching TV Land a couple of nights ago, I wondered if 20-30 years from now if people will be watching reruns of these HORRIBLE reality shows like this, the way people watch reruns of Cheers, The Jeffersons, All In The Family etc, today. I just can't see it.
Head of the Class was just a dumb show period. You should have seen the episode where the teacher opened a live theater and they redid Romeo and Juliet 80's gangster style or something. Worst. TV. Evah. That's my nomination. The whole show tried to be some sort of an ideal classroom, where the teacher made learning fun and the kids got into intelligent discussions every damn class period. Survivor is definitely f'ing stupid. It's not like anything bad will actually happen to them. "OMG It was like so stressful standing on this pole for hours. The whole time there was this fly buzzing around me. He was trying to wear me down, I swear it." The Battle of the Sexes thing on tv is stupid, too.
Re: Re: Worst or Stupidest moment in the history of TV If they have had an REM song, I would have hunted them down. And didn't everyone confused the song and its meaning? I thought it was supposed to be about a nucler holocaust or a nuclear future and everyone just thought it was about a positive view of the world.
Evidence of the vast wasteland that was 80s sitcoms. anyone remember my two dads with paul riezer and the guy that looked like billy ray cyrus. Here's an idea lets have two guys that aren't gay (on the surface anyway) raise a teenaged girl. Oh yeah let's toss an old fiesty female judge to mix it up.
It as bad as Saved By the Bell but Head of the Class has a certain respect it didn't earn. I should also nominate the Saved by the Bell show when Jesse get hooked on caffeine pills and act like it was crack including having a breakdown. But that was actually funny not stupid and arrogant.
Re: Re: Re: Worst or Stupidest moment in the history of TV Is that the future is so bright that you need to wear sunglasses song? Like the german song 99 luft ballons where americans liked because it was catchy no really caring that it was an anti-war song. (or any german song for that matter)
For me the worst moment in TV history is the day The LifeTime channel was invented. Otherwise known as the rape/battered/menopausal/abused/jilted/jaded/leftatthealtar/men hating womens channel.
Re: Re: Worst or Stupidest moment in the history of TV I believe the other dad was Greg Evigan, who was also BJ in BJ and the Bear, another fine example of TV in the 70s'.
i think the worst moment in TV is when MTV introduced the shout outs during videos. i wanna hear beautiful by cristina aguilera cuz my girls at delta kappa gamma are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! WOOOOOHHHHHHH" i really believe this was the beginning of the end for television. i think a lot of kids saw this and a thought popped into their head. that thought was act like a fvckin idiot and your reward is you get on TV. years later, we have a billion reality shows, those dumbass dating shows so on and so forth
When Charles Rocket said the "F" word on Saturday Night Live without it getting bleeped by the censors.
> You should have seen the episode where the > teacher opened a live theater and they redid > Romeo and Juliet 80's gangster style or something Didn't this have an earlier scene with the teacher showing his off-off-off-Broadway version of Hamlet, which was done in German hyper-modern style with the Hamlet character doing a monologue with a TV screen also showing the same Hamlet doing the monologue differently to symbolize his internal struggle? That was pretty cool. It was the only moment of that show worth remembering, although for some reason I watched it quite often when I was a kid. Damn I was a stupid kid. There were so many low points to TV. Blossom has to be added to the list of life-destroying shows.
One of the lowest points in TV history in many years was when UPN announced that Nowhere Man (one of the best shows in TV history) was canceled... only to be replaced by Homeboys From Outer Space. -G
This list has to include Full House in it somewhere. And supidest Saved by the Bell episode? Remeber the one where they had a class project for a business class where they had to invent something to sell. So all 6 of them made Buddy bands but then they get into a fight with each (most likely about who was running the group, Zach or Slater). So then the new group of 3 makes Love Cuffs and they become competitors. Finally Max reunites them and all's good. That was a pretty bad one. I can remember the commercial they made with these flourescent neon colored head bands and wrist bands.
Yeah, that was brought up earlier, probably the stupidest SBtB episode, the buddy band one being next in line.
ehhh, the real world started way before the shoutouts. Whoever can pinpoint the day the huge boom of reality TV started, may also have a huge point.
Ehh I already mentioned it. Also the episode when Mrs Belding has a baby in the elevator, especially since they never showed that they had more than 1 floor. As for Full House, I use to watch the show a lot but can't remember anything as stupid although the one about having a white christmas in the backyard by buying ice cream was just moronic. Also very close the Family Matters where Urkel created the Robot Urkel.
Sad to say about a cool show, but I believe that "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" ruined contemporary television, offshooting reality TV and game shows based on lots'o cash... The Chair??? Dog Eat Dog??? I'd say even American Idol came to the forefront riding this wave...ahhhhhhhh!!!!!
