Hmm... interesting thread. Never really looked at the other logos as closely as some of you, obviously, have. But, now that I have, my $.02:

Chicago: Unique among the league. Simple and to the point. Anyone who knows any FD will pick up on the logo shape...
Chivas: Hate it. Way too much. (It's not a rival thing, I just don't like it. Never did.)
Colorado: Rivalry aside, I really like it actually. Very simple and to the point. Probably the best crest in the league.
Columbus: Agree w/ the majority here... needs to change. The colors certainly stand out but the Village People? Really? Meh.
DCU: Impartial. It's ok, but doesn't really jump out at me.
FCD: I'd put this as a runner-up to the cRapids crest. Very clean.
Houston: Nope. The lines are way too distracting. Reminds me of a focusing chart for ENG cameras.
LA: For being LA, this is too plain. Needs a bit more pop me thinks.
Montreal: I like this one too. I also like how everything on it has a historical meaning. Very cool in my book.
NER: Meh. Doesn't look like a crest of any sort, just a logo that suits the NFL better...
NYRB: The Pink Cows? I, personally, hate it when the corporate sponsors have to take over everything, even the crest. What a shame.
Philly: It's growing on me. The color scheme works very well. 13 stars, coiled snake, etc. All appropriate for the area.
Portland: Impartial. Doesn't really do anything for me either.
RSL: If they'd lose the Real Salt Lake words and expand the rest (like I've seen images of) I think it'd be a much better crest.
    SanJose: Umm... no thanks.
Seattle: Too many words but I like the homage to the Needle.
Sporting: I like the simplicity of it, but it looks... fat. Also, it reads "Kansas City Sporting". Isn't it the other way around? And "SC"? Keep it "FC" if you're gonna...
TFC: Another one that I'd rank up there w/ Colorado, FCD and Chicago. My only gripe is the who-ha on top. What is that?
Vancouver: Snow capped... glaciers? Very simple design but... what is it?

    Top 3:
Colorado (I like the logo, hate the team!)
    FCD
    Chicago/Montreal (tied)

    Bottom 3:
    CD Chivas USA
    NYRB
    NER

The who-ha on the top of the TFC logo is a maple leaf with soccer ball panels on it. Not a fan either but it grew on me.

Chicago: confusing to fire department logos. I heard most chicagians just think it's logo of Chicago fire department when they see Chicago Fire Crest. Even most MLS fans should give it a careful second look to distinguish it from a logo from one of the fire departments.

Are you really surprised that average people would think of a fire department at first look?

People will at least be curious when they see other crests. People will think of some sort of fire department when they see Chicago Fire crest.

idk why everybody was giving you a hard time about these.... i actually like the first one, although since im from rhode island i personally think it should have the colonial Rhode Island flag too lol, i just think the font of the letters needs to be fixed up a bit.

Someone else on BigSoccer made this, and I remember thinking it was a great idea for a Revs crest:

Cool. They should do it when they get a new stadium unless rebranding to something with Boston in it.

Yes, this logo is good. NE Rev need to rebrand b/c the current logo is so outdated. They are the last team with a horrible crest in MLS.

It's the snow caped North Shore Mountains reflecting off the Burrard Inlet...the reflection is a VW and the silver lining represents the clubs history of winning championships.

Because its not even a crest.

LOVE it. Perfect font, good shape and I love how it includes the logo.
