Has to be either Futty Danso, Mike Chabala, Bryan Gaul, or Logan Emory.

Please. You have never watched Porfirio Lopez play for Philly.

Holgersson the Swedish Statue is pretty frickin bad. His aspiration is to be Per Mertesacker.

Hans Backe...in a way repped this.

He wants to murder soccer? Then he's doing a good job.

Let's at least give Gaul a full season of playing as a defender before condemning him...

Seconded. Seeing as he's singlehandedly responsible for around half of the goals NY concedes, he's gotta be starting only because he has some compromising photos of Hans Backe...

I was just going to post this. His only pass is to run at a weird angle to the ball and kick it long.

Certainly in the top 3. I was shocked to see him in the starting lineup last night for the Galaxy. Not sure what Arena sees in the guy.

I kind of like Gaul. I thought he looked pretty good when I've seen him (at least a kid with potential).

Yea, he'd be another member of the top 3.

I think he got even worse in Europe.

Yeah, Holgersson has sucked harder than Kim Kardashian recently. But Mert is the anchor of Arsenals defense. He is so slow it sometimes appears that he is anchored into the ground.

C'mon...KK just didn't do much other than lay there and take it in her rear.

Paris Hilton, on the other hand, has provided photographic evidence of her abilities in this particular field...

I'm sure there are worse defenders that don't get any playing time, but among those that do:

Robbie Russell has been absolutely terrible for DC this year, but he was playing through injury so that might have been it.

Every time I watch the rapids Tyrone Marshall is really, really bad.

But I think Stephen McCarthy takes the prize - he's just absolutely horrible.

As bad as he is, the RedBulls would take him in a heartbeat. Defensively speaking, it has to be Chris Tierney

McCarthy has an excuse, at least, which is that it's his first season playing in the back, and he only moved there because other players were injured.
