I didn't think it was within the rules for the batter to do that. I thought you needed to stay within the rectangular box. That was a pretty bad throw by the bowler.
nope, I think you can go anywhere, but if you are outside the crease and the wicketkeeper knocks the bails off you are out by stumping, and wicketkeepers stand close for spinners and some medium pacers
That was shocking, almost as bad as Gladstone Small. But when Tufnell got it right, he caused all sorts of damage. It's just unfortunate that he couldn't bat or throw. He was just a teddy boy with a bit of talent who was in it for the good time, and loved every minute of it, and I certainly won't begrudge him that.
