Bless em...i like Africa, i don't want to sound patronising but i feel sorry for them, i really hope they sort out the world cup and theirs no problems during it, it will be something for them to be proud of.

The author probably heard about David Beckham's total projected compensation (i.e. a possible $250 million over 5 years) to play in the league and concluded that MLS is "one of the most lucrative leagues in the world."

there are thousands of leagues around the world, MLS is probably one of most lucrative when you look at it that way :)

"They?" Kenya and South Africa are very far apart, and very different.

East African soccer is pretty bad. I mean, Kenya has around 38M people, and their best players over the last few years were a couple of guys in Norway.

No joke...my father-in-law played for the Kenyan champion in the early 1950s. I've got a team picture. Very cool.

hm.. completely unfamiliar with even the basics of college soccer in the US... a comedy of errors there, but I hardly expect a foreigner to actually do his research on NCAA soccer

Well compared to the leagues in East Africa it's very lucrative.
