I live in the New York Metropolitan area and late Monday night I was listening to a 620 AM on the radio. It's an all sports station which broadcasts syndicated shows from around the country and that night I couldn't believe my ears. I heard an all soccer show called "World Soccer Weekly" hosted by two English guys who said they were based in Southern California. They talked a lot about the Galaxy's new stadium and the Confederation's Cup and took phone calls on a variety of soccer topics. Unfortunately I had to go to sleep and didn't get their names. Has anybody else heard of this show? If so how long have they been on and who are these guys? I've haven't heard them discussed on BigSoccer so far and any additional information would be welcomed.
It's been on longer than I have been listening to it (6 months) so I don't know how long. But they mention Big Soccer quite often. Cool show and the only place you can really get English discussion of our game thats so in depth. They also have a website www.worldsoccerweekly.com.
A three hour weekly show every Monday night in the two largest metro areas of the country is an incredible and valuable accomplishment, particular because the program is, despite all the contests, excellent. Check them out! They also are on a scattering of smaller stations with a second program, World Soccer Weekend, every Saturday night. Beyond this they produce the Galaxy's weekly radio show, and set up live feeds from weekly Saturday EPL "match of the week" to the primarily in car Sirius radio network this past season. Finally they have, in their words, "secured the exclusive English language radio rights to the Manchester United 2003 US Tour and will bring live play by play coverage of all four matches to the US airwaves"
