Did anyone else catch this last night from 8-11 PST? What a great show. Wynalda was there and was as candid and truthful as ever. He really does speak his mind ("Landon took the easy way out staying in MLS," etc.). It was great having three hours of people talking the game. The trivia questions are a little suspect though - if you want a respected show, you have to ask difficult questions! All in all though, it was a great 'listen.
I called into the show and I got on the air. yay! I will try to make this a monday night ritual for myself. hehe
That show last night was absolutely terrific. And Wynalda was great. Among the nuggets -- Meola and Keller hate each other, dissing Fernando Calvijo, saying Oliver Kahn is a jerk and discussing why he thinks Friedel is the best keeper in the world right now. Lots of good English Premier league stuff too. I'm hooked. Too bad Wynalda can't be on every week. His candor is great. I hope he carries it over to the MLS broadcasts this season.
Go to www.worldsoccerweekly.com to get information about show times and stations. The shows are archived so if you miss one you can listen later. There is also a saturday show (7 - 10pm pacific time) -- world soccer weekend. Go to the website to check out if it is carried by a sportsbyline affiliate in your city. Hope you pass on the word about these great shows.
I listened to last week's show from their archives, if they are all that good I am going to become a regular listener. Now I'm waiting for this week's show to be archived, anyone know when it will be up and if it always takes this long? I'm not going to stay up till 2am to listen live. I think last week they put up 3 shows at the same time, I really hope I don't have to wait 2 weeks, I don't know if I would bother to listen to a show discussing games and news from weeks before.
The show from 3/3 was on the world soccer website yesterday -- 3/4. Go to www.worldsoccerweekly.com and look on the top right of the webpage. They are very fast at putting the shows into their archives -- just a day or so.
