yea, i heard the same, but i am still a bit confused about what is going on with this game.. can anyone fill me in with some more info...
all i know is that this game is supppose to celebrate real's centenary year (100 years of existence). real will field their best team. so it will be interesting to see figo, zidane, ronaldo, raul, beckham, rivaldo, and posibly shevchenko all on the same field.
Do you think Real is also using this as a chance to look at potential recruits? Well, I know some people like Rivaldo (recently signed with AC) and Beckham (he'll be at ManU forever) are off limits, but guys like Nakata are definitely a possibility.
Game is set for November 18. In true Real Madrid arrogance, they worked out a deal with FIFA to cancel every other game... apparently the whole world must stop playing football to celebrate their 100th birthday... for a club that can't win a F...ing match in its past four. I hope the World XI does what Deportivo did to them last year on their real (no pun intended) 100 birthday.... when Depor beat Real in the final of the Copa del Rey at the Bernabeu and all the Depor fans sang "Feliz cumpleanos Real Madrid!!" (Happy Birthday Madrid) in complete derision and mockery.
Well, the Real Madrid was the idea to make a tribute to the soccer in the year of its centerany. The concept was that the Real Madrid is "big" team because has "fought" against extraordinary teams and players in the last 100 years -sometimes losing and sometimes winning. And the club want to thanks to all that people that have contributed to help to make the soccer the most important sport in the world. The team presented that idea to FIFA the last year. And the Fifa thought that was a good idea. After that the Fifa began to search a date for the game that finally was de December 18th. The game was oficially presented two weeks ago with the name " Dia Mundial del futbol - Soccer world day". And the RM will play against a world team and to the game will be invited the presidents of the most important clubs in the world and many important people in the history of the game.
