You gotta keep WR and believe it or not, most (but certainly not all) threads are football related, some of the most knowledgable football fans on this entire site post there and enjoy the banter. Having it in NSR is a bit crazy, and i think is the first step to killing the forum entirely. Alex had a good idea in creating a 'Rivalries Section'. I think the mods are doing a good job but (I assume) they have jobs/lives to be getting on with and therfore can't be around 24/7 to keep an eye on things. A couple of things you could do is: Add some more mods for help - Alex_1 and Garcia or someone else would be great if they were willing Limit people to a certain amount of threads they can start per day or week ala politics Get stricter on crap posters (this is what killed WR) eg forum bans for posters who add nothing eg metro, she was banned but not before every thread read like her diary Red card crap socks Put image tags back! Please!! Merge threads that cover same topic/degenerate into same arguments It would be hard work but WR is/would be worth it, IF you can get enough mods to do it!! Also Huss you say you don't like visitors seeing WR but hell, WR is the essence of what footy is about sometimes!
You can't mod a forum like WR with one hand tied behind your back but I won't go into that on this forum.
When I started posting in it, it was a bit of banter that was mostly centred around the sport. But then those socks that I mentioned came in to try and stir things up. They purposely posted racist comments just to get a reaction. A few sad people, not to mention those who actually reported WR, have ruined it for all.
funnily enough - at about the time I joined the old timers were complaining at that point how lame it was, which makes it doubly sad if you compare it to now.
I think the slide started when you stepped down as mod. The other mods just aint around much. I guess you can also say some crappy posters took over the forum and too many good ones left. lets face it ,you cant expect too much quality with pedro and metro around.

I just checked WR and.. every thread is either.. 1)closed 2)by pedro marquez that forum is done .a sad end to once great forum. prenn closed every thread and only kept pedro's thread. tragic.
It depends on what we want WR to be used for in the future. Previously some of the socks were very funny but standards have slipped quite some way recently. Blaming socks for all that is wrong in WR seems like an easy way out in my mind.
