My window that started today had no single game tickets for the US. I can get the follow your team pack that has a ticket to all three, but it is $2100 which is a bit rich for me. The first game is what screws it up, they want $1400 of the $2100for game 1. That is for a category 3 ticket which is the top corners of the stadium. Will hope for future chances at category 3 standalone tickets to games 2 and 3, and skip the opener if future draws give me a chance.
******** the free market then, this is bullshit and anyone who champions this ********ing bullshit can eat shit.
Oh and FIFA is getting 15% from both seller and buyer on official resales. In addition to whatever they got the first time around. ********ing pieces of shit. This nation is full of greed and bullshit. So much for any chance of going to a World Cup game given that all of them are also 6+ hours away. I should have known better. Probably cheaper to fly overseas and go to a World Cup finals match over there. Where everyone is only moderately greedy. At this rate, Dos A Cero matches are going to be the closest I will have ever come and I suppose that will have been OK.
My VISA window opened today at 11. I could have bought tickets to the US games but starting at $700 each and considering the team sucks, I opted to travel to Atlanta to see two random teams play for the low price of $310 each.
Has anyone received an email saying they haven't been selected for the VISA presale yet? I remember thinking you'd here back regardless of yes or no, but I still haven't seen anything.
Edit: Just got my rejection email for the VISA Pre-sale so counting that window to be officially closed now.
Got the rejection. Word to the wise, dont get a RTB. If you luck into being able to buy a ticket, it will be a category 1 ticket, hundreds to thousands of dollars
That is wild, after all the scams to get people to gamble on getting them, they limit them to higher category tickets. Shouldn't be surprised with FIFA.
There was an American Airlines promotion where you could use your miles for tickets. The only thing available this morning was the final in category 1, and you needed almost a million miles for it.
Yep. A guy i know who is a miles/CC guru said it is more economical to just buy off the resale market.
A post I came across on tiktok went over the point value for a ticket. It was over $1100 to buy the points needed for a $400 ticket. Another scam and grift........
There is no value at all in buying miles for something like this. Just doesn't make logical sense. But if you fly a LOT and had a ton of miles in your account already, sure, why not!
The cheapest ticket to see the U.S. men’s team play in the FIFA World Cup is $1,640. And prices will likely go even higher. - MarketWatch https://www.marketwatch.com/story/t...nd-prices-will-likely-go-even-higher-05698fce Let's play some hypotheticals: Historically speaking, if a team's opening game ends in a loss, that team probably won't make the knockout round. Should the US start with a loss, shouldn't that, at least in theory, cause ticket prices to drop? I've seen the chart where game three prices are lower than the opening game, and I'm assuming that might be connected. If the team has one point after two games, then people are going to that third game just for the support and "it's a chance to go to a WC game" factor. There'd truly be nothing to play for, other than pride. But...the World Cup has expanded. Will some third-place teams make the knockout? I don't follow FIFA that closely. If this is the case, then there's a chance that a team could make the knockout after a 0-1 start, especially if it's a 1-0 loss. Will they go higher? It's definitely possible, but it's anyone's guess, especially when the opponents aren't known.
The US is in Pot 1, so unless the fifa rankings get wonky, they should avoid a thoroughbred. There are 5 million tickets that still have not been distributed. My friends have theorized that prices will go down; however, the resale market was cleaned out, so we didnt hold out to drive down prices. Those scalpers might not get their money until after the WC ends per Reddit convos.
I hate to say it but I don't think you should be of the mindset that ticket prices are going to come down (much). This isn't the Club World Cup. This World Cup is being set up to get as many people to be able to come to one game and there seems to be plenty of demand for tickets based on the Visa sale (and the high % of people who did not even get the chance to buy) Outside of the first game in LA, I'd say that ticket prices for games 2 and 3 for the US are "reasonable" or at least "as expected" for a tournament of this scale. These next two windows will be the true indicators as more of a % of tickets will be available but I truly don't see any significant changes to pricing.
I don't like how there's no chance of a not-wealthy moderate fan acquiring tickets to any of these games. If you're not a die-hard who's signed up for various and sundry lists or a person with vey high disposable income, tickets appear to be inaccessible.
Cheapest ticket for a US game (not going to count the two rows of Cat 4 seats) seems to be ~$400-$500. While that is not cheap by any means, an event like this was never going to be cheap. Hell, think we paid close to $150 for upper deck tickets in 1994. The only place where there's an "insider" capability to buy tickets is via US Soccer which is going to be 5-8% of the venue tickets. Everything else is random draw.
I think there are/were also a lot of panic buyers with the first wave of Visa pre-sale of people thinking that was the end of tickets. It wasn't the end....it was just the end of the Visa presale.
Think I mentioned it earlier that my group has half joked around about doing the opposite travel for the World Cup and instead of traveling around the US and paying massive $ for tickets.....just go somewhere else that would be fun to watch games. Someone did investigations for this and found a 10 bed place on Copacabana Beach in Rio. Could all stay there for 2.5 weeks for $800 per person.
My favorite place on earth, though admittedly there's still a lot places I have yet to go. I know most of the discussion is around the US group stage games. I'm curious about how bad the cost is for random games that don't involve host countries. Like what are they charging for a random game in Guadalajara or Vancouver that doesn't involve their MNTs?
