Mods: Feel free to delete this if there is already a thread/section for this, but I couldn't seem to find it after a brief search. ------------ I remember a certain poster (can't recall his username) posting pictures of his travel in the last World Cup. It was great! Not sure if anybody here is doing something similar (there has to be, right?), but I figured it would be a good idea to open up a thread for those fortunate enough to be in Brazil to post their pictures for us all to see. I know there are already individual city threads on BigSoccer, but those seem to be more about tickets and travel details. Pics don't always have to be soccer-related or at the games: I'm interested in seeing pics of fan fests, city squares, beaches, and just the atmosphere in general (although stadium pics are always welcomed of course.) Hopefully you guys have media to share. I wasn't able to attend this World Cup (or any WC for that matter), but I feel this could at least make me feel a bit closer.
Let me start. This was right after the end of Germany X Algeria match, in Porto Alegre, a militar band making a party while Germans, Algerians, Brazilians and everyone else from everywhere getting fun together. Even the police.
Got back about a week ago, and have just finished editing my pictures. Check out my pics on my blog: http://www.worldwondering.com/world-wondering-albums/brazil-2014-world-cup/ I've broken them into mini-albums based off the host cities I visited. Hope you enjoy them!
Loco, I got several of these. Just need to upload to my YouTube. I went to Arg vs Swiss, Arg vs Belgium, & Arg vs Netherlands. Got home yesterday. So depressed right now that I'm not going to the final..
As promised, here are the first couple entries on Natal and USA v Ghana. I'll be updating, slowly but surely, for the next month or so.
I really enjoyed your pictures! Had similar thoughts about Natal: I thought it was a really nice city, but given the uproar in costs on hosting, honestly could probably have been cut fairly easily from a tournament schedule... Especially as FIFA only wanted Brazil to have 8 host cities, and they insisted on 12!!
