    I'll take either.

Looks like El Sal will be in our group of 4.

Assuming they all win. Would sure be nice if Panama could get upset by, say, Britsh Virgin Islands...would make for a better road trip in the winter...

    I hate Mexico!

    Their semi group will be
    Mexico
    Barbados/St Kitts winner
    Trinidad
    Nicaragua/St Vincent's winner

That is by far the easiest looking group.

    Meanwhile, Cuba got screwed.
They have to play Costa Rica to get to the semifinals.

That looks to be the group of death:
Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, and Canada

After looking at Group B, no one can say anything bad about FIFA "fixing" things.

Wow. We won't have it easy, having to play El Sal down there and at "home" and booking a trip to The Office yet again. But we've always played relatively well there and the Jamaicans have some rebuilding to do.

No draw is easy - and we have to get past our home and home first - but this could have been a lot, lot worse. Costa Rica has to play Cuba (likely), then go into that group.

And we didn't draw a glamour Carribean vacation away leg in our first series. :(

Mexico probably got the best semi-final group:

    Mexico
    Barbados
    T&T
    Nicaragua/St Vincent & Grenadines

We are next best, and Group B is the group of death. I can see any two of those four advance.

We're definitely in the middle group, in terms of quality.

The fact that only two of Costa Rica/Honduras/Guatemala/Canada/Cuba will get to the Final Round is tough -- what a group. Of course, that probably increases ours odds in the Final Round.

Mexico definitely can coast into the Final Round. A semifinal group of Trinidad, Barbados/St.Kitts, and St.Vincent/Nicaragua. Please.

As I recall, Jamaica's recent results are such that I wouldn't rule out a trip to Haiti instead.

Isn't Grenada a nice place to hit the beach?

    I'm asking; I honestly don't know.

And is Guyana the French Guyana, down near South America?

Grenada--Ranked 149 by FIFA. In 2002 qualifying, lost in first round to Barbados 5-4 aggregate in extra time. In 1998 qualifying, beat Guyana 8-1 on aggregate in first round, lost 7-1 on aggregate to Haiti in second round.

Guyana--Ranked 181 by FIFA. Was suspended and did not participate in 2002 qualifying. In 1998 lost to Grenada, noted above.

Guyana is a different country from French Guyana.

And from what I understand, the beaches aren't that great. I knew a guy from Guyana who told me that their coastline is too close to the mouth of the Amazon, which fills their beaches with muddy water.

No idea about Grenada, but I think it's got nice beaches (isn't that why we invaded 20 years ago?). Guyana, along w/Surinam and someone else whose name escapes are indeed part of South America.

    Are you serious???

You're not making a joke about the US hitting the beach in Grenada?

It's not like we're talking ancient history here. The 80's weren't that long ago.
