This thread is to post the provisional 30 and final 23 man rosters for each WC team, and also to discuss. There have been rumoured 30 man lists of both Ghana and Nigeria leaked, however officials of both federations have denied the authenticity. Nigeria is supposed to officially release their list tomorrow. The deadline for the 30 men rosters is May 13 The deadline for the final 23 men rosters is June 2
Felipão has confirmed nine players that will be in the Brazil squad: David Luiz Oscar Ramires Willian Paulinho Julio Cesar Thiago Silva Fred Neymar He's expected to name the full 23-man squad on May 7 although he may also announce seven 'substitutes' afterwards.
Miguel Herrera of the Mexico NT is expected to release the final 23 man roster on May 9th. he will also release the names of the 7 reserve players.
I think lallana, sterling, sturridge, wellbeck, gerrard, baines, hart, cole, Johnson, lampard, milner, cahill, jagielka and rooney are all certainties. I would like shaw and barkley to go too but im not sure they will

Iran's 28 Man Preliminary World Cup Roster released: http://www.mlssoccer.com/worldcup/2...ight-back-steven-beitashour-named-irans-preli San Jose, CA, USA native Steven Beitashour is one of the (11) Defenders that made it this far! (I'm also from the Bay Area).
Big Phil announces the Brazilian squad. Where is Ronaldo? Ronaldinho? Romario? http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/y...335201.html?intcmp=fifacom_hp_module_news_top
Here comes Ecuador's squad: http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1811919/ecuador-surprises-world-cup-squad?cc=5901 "Fortuna Duesseldorf defender Cristian Ramirez and Stuttgart midfielder Carlos Gruezo are among the surprise selections on Ecuador's roster for its World Cup warmup against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on May 17..."
That isn't Ecuador's world cup squad. Its the squad for the friendly vs Netherlands. Not sure how much different it will be but nothing is set in stone.
South Korea have just announced their squad http://www.kfa.or.kr/english/koreateam/km_player_list.asp?k_team_type=1
But since provisional squad lists must be submitted by the 13th, and the Holland friendly is being played on the 17th, we can probably conclude that the players listed for the Holland game are part of the 30 man provisional squad that Ecuador will send to FIFA. So I see nothing wrong with posting that link.
Our coach said it'll be Hadzic who gets dropped if Mujdza stays healthy. But Mujdza is very injury-prone (which also sucks because he's a great part of our attack on the right wing and we play much better with him).
Germany Goalkeepers: Neuer, Weidenfeller, Zieler Defenders: Lahm, Boateng, Durm, Grosskreutz, Höwedes, Hummels, Jansen, Mertesacker, Mustafi, Schmelzer Midfielders: Müller, Schürrle, Götze, Schweinsteiger, Podolski, L. Bender, Draxler, Goretzka, Hahn, Khedira, Kroos, Meyer, Özil, Reus, Ginter Attackers: Klose, Volland
Nigeria has announced their initial 30 man squad. I need to see how many match my Panini Sticker album! http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/y=2014/m=5/news=yobo-odemwingie-in-nigeria-squad-2335888.html Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama (Lille/FRA), Austin Ejide (Hapoel Be'er Sheva/ISR), Chigozie Agbim (Gombe United), Daniel Akpeyi (Warri Wolves) Defenders: Elderson Echiejile (Monaco/FRA), Efe Ambrose (Celtic FC/SCO), Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor/TUR), Azubuike Egwuekwe (Warri Wolves), Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough/ENG), Juwon Oshaniwa (Ashdod FC/ISR), Joseph Yobo (Norwich City/ENG), Kunle Odunlami (Sunshine Stars) Midfielders: Mikel Obi (Chelsea/ENG), Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio/ITA), Ramon Azeez (Almeria/SPA), Ejike Uzoenyi (Enugu Rangers), Gabriel Reuben (Beveren/BEL), Nosa Igiebor (Real Betis/SPA), Joel Obi (Parma/ITA), Michael Uchebo (Cercle Brugge/BEL), Sunday Mba (CA Bastia/FRA) Forwards: Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow/RUS), Shola Ameobi (Newcastle United/ENG), Victor Moses (Liverpool/ENG), Emmanuel Emenike (Fenerbahce/TUR), Obinna Nsofor (Chievo Verona/ITA), Peter Osaze Odemwingie (Stoke City/ENG), Babatunde Michael (Volyn/UKR), Nnamdi Oduamadi (Varese/ITA), Uche Nwofor (Heerenveen/NED) *Squad lists are only official once they have been confirmed and published by FIFA on 16 May at 12:00 CET.
So the coach of Nigeria Steven Keshi is again up to his silly antics doing his best to destroy our chances of success in Brazil. Our 30 man squad he listed is absolutely ridiculous, and unacceptable, the guy is a player agent and is corrupt to the core. We will have a strong starting 11, but our bench options will be very weak. He has not learned a thing from the Confederations cup debacle and is leaving many talented players at home for the likes of injured players bench warmers 2nd division players reserve team players Notable absentees Ikechukwu Uche (Villareal) - One of the top scorers in La Liga Chinedu Obasi (Schalke 04) - Has been a regular fixture for his team scoring goals and assists late in season Victor Anichebe (WestBromich) - Has scored a few goals and is a much better option than some on the list Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders)- Past his prime but still much better than some of the options on list Haruna Lukman (Dynamo Kiev) - The only real goal scoring midfielder we have Sone Aluko (Hull City) - Dyamic midfielder who is a freekick specialist Fegor Ogude (Amkar) - Midfielder started every game for his new Russian side and scored 3 goals in last few weeks Ezikiel Imoh (Standard Liege) - One of top scorers in Belgium. There is a player on the 30 man list who has not played ONE SINGLE GAME FOR HIS CLUB ALL SEASON There is a player on the 30 man list who has just been relegated to the French THIRD DIVISION Again I say we can still make the second round, but I think anything after that is unlikely. If we have any injuries or suspensions to key players, we will be in real trouble. To do well in these tournaments you need a deep bench. We could have a very deep bench, but our coach has chosen to take junk players who he most likely has financial connections to. I feel very sick. I do not see one country going to Brazil with such a poor representation of their countries talent.
Wow, I only really knew about Oba Martins since I follow MLS and USA Soccer in general and wondered if he should make the team. This truly is some stunning ineptitude/corruption by manager Steven Keshi. It is a shame that Nigeria won't be bringing all their best players. How can we get Keshi replaced with someone with some respect for the game? If Klinsmann tried doing this to my USA Team there would be hell to pay!
@vancity, Ever since the draw, and my discussions with Zahzah and others (including yourself) regarding Nigeria, it was clear that Keshi's roster will be composed of around 15 first choice players and the rest little known prospects playing in Nigeria which Keshi will have scouted himself but who aren't otherwise well known. In the meantime, for a long time, it has been known that Uche will not make Nigeria's team due to issues with Keshi. Thus, I am not sure what so surprising about this roster? It has the key players that are expected to start for Nigeria and will have a few others that played critical rolls in Nigeria winning the African championship. Speaking of which, I don't think "Sunday Mba" was remotely a household name when he was picked and did so well for Nigeria in the 2013 African Nations. I dare say without him, and his critical (and rather nice) goals, Nigeria wouldn't have won the African championship. Anyway, in our case, Iran have the opposite problem that you have with Keshi. Our coach basically gives preferential treatment to anyone who plays in Europe at the expense of what may sometimes be better domestic based talent. But since Querioz's gamble on one of these players, Ghoochannejad who at the time was riding pine with Standard Liege in Belgium and is now in the English 2nd division with Charlton, paid off spectacularly with Ghoochannejad scoring a goal for Iran consecutively in each of his last 6-7 appearances for Iran, most of our fans think Queiroz has earned the benefit of the doubt. I had noticed Nigerians similarly giving Keshi the benefit of the doubt due to his success in winning the African championship, but I see you are not one of them. P.S. On closer examination, looking at Nigeria's roster, what is surprising is that apparently there are no real domestic based players on it!!
Oh we knew Uche wasn't going to make it, but leaving out Obasi and Lukman for players who haven't even played all season for their clubs and have been demoted to the reserve team is disgusting. Obasi and Lukman are both good enough to be starters for Nigeria, and our joke of a coach couldn't even include them in a 30 man roster. No there are not a lot of HOMEBASED players in the squad , but the reason is that many in the squad were HOMEBASED not to long ago and signed contracts with mediocre euro clubs after getting undeserved exposure in the national team. Keshi has made our team his personal business. Sunday Mba is a terrible player by the way, and just because he happened to score 2 critical goals in our ANC win, it has given him complete immunity from being cut from the team no matter how poor his subsequent form has been, and it has been piss poor. Anyways like I said we will still have a strong starting 11 and a few good subs, but we will be a few injuries or suspensions away from having to field some crappy players in Brazil.
Sorry to hear about the corruption in Nigeria. The leaked provisonal list for Ghana seems to have a bit more integrity to it. Goalkeepers Stephen Adams (Aduana Stars, Ghana), Adam Kwarasey (Stromsgodset, Norway), Daniel Agyei (Free States Stars, South Africa), Fatau Dauda (Orlando Pirates, South Africa) Defenders Samuel Inkoom (Platanias, Greece), Daniel Opare (Standard Liege, Belgium), Jonathan Mensah (Evian TG, France), Baba Abdul Rahman (Greuther Furth, Germany), Harrison Afful (Esperance, Tunisia), John Boye (Rennes, France), Isaac Vorsah (Red Bull Salzburg, Austria), Jerry Akaminko (Eskisehirspor, Turkey), David Addy (Vitoria Guimaraes), Rashid Sumaila (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa) Midfielders Sulley Muntari (AC Milan, Italy), Michael Essien (AC Milan, Italy), Mubarak Wakaso (Rubin Kazan, Russia), Rabiu Mohammed (Kuban Krasnodar, Russia), Kwadwo Asamoah (Juventus, Italy), Emmanuel Agyemang Badu (Udinese, Italy), Andre Ayew (Marseille, France), Anthony Annan (Schalke 04, Germany), Christian Atsu (Vitesse Arnhem, Holland), Afriyie Acquah (Parma, Italy), Albert Adomah (Middlesbrough, England) Forwards Jordan Ayew (Sochaux, France), Abdul Majeed Waris (Valenciennes, France), Kevin Prince Boateng (Schalke 04, Germany), Asamoah Gyan (Al Ain, UAE), Richmond Boakye Yiadom (Elche)
In theory yes, but God forbid our coach does the unthinkable and actually drops some of the legitimate players on that list for the crappy ones. Honestly with the corruption of Steven Keshi, nothing he does at this point will surprise me.
