Almost 2 weeks to go. From what I've seen this is how I'd rank the 32 teams. This is of course highly subjective so please feel free to post your own.

    Tier 1

    Brazil

    Tier 2

Argentina, Holland, Germany, England, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Portugal

    Tier 3

Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, Croatia, Poland, Serbia-Montenegro, Mexico, USA, Paraguay, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Ghana

    Tier 4

Switzerland, Iran, Korea, Japan, Australia, Costa Rica, Tunisia, Angola, Togo, Saudi Arabia

    Tier 5

    Trinidad and Tobago

i think if Ecuador drew in that group, we would have a great shot at advancing to the next round.

tier 7, besides Tunisia, are teams that could go far.

you know it. i would like to see Brasil in a more challenging group.

Brasil, with Holland, Japan and Sweden could be a good challenge for Ronaldo and crew.

I suppose not. that is unfortunate, as African teams will probably go out with a whimper, no matter what group they are in.

I don't think Ecuador can be pit againts Argentina and Brasil.

So that leaves either Alemenia, Espania, Francia, Italia, Mexico and Inglaterra from pot A.

I would fancy Ecuador's chances if our group was

    Mexico
    Ecuador
    Poland(revenge :D )
any of these teams, but S.Arabia and T&T woulde be nice.

Exactly: every group will have one team from Pot A (seeds) and one each from B, C and D (regional pots).

Ecuador's screwed. Every south and central American team is done for except Argentina and Brazil. Mexico's seeding was a curse in disguise. Now they're probably going to get Serbia and another Euro team.

Our best chance for getting an accesible group is getting on the Hosts group, because the only tough one would be germany, and they usually put the host with 3 other not so good team.
Se we could have a very good chance to fight for 2nd place in that team.

i HATE the idea that ecuador and paraguay could end up in a group with argentina or brazil.... this shouldn't be allowed... lets hope this doesn't happen and we can avoid facing our south american counterparts until at least the second round

are you sure about that? i don't think we can be in the same group as them, just like USA and Costa Rica cannot be with Mexcio.
