I know plenty of people who say Portugal will come behind Ivory Coast and Brazil first. I'm sure the majority of people think that too. It probably has to do with the way we were playing in the qualifying rounds even though many players were injured. Anyone hear any news about Pepe?
Word has it the operation was more successful then orginally expected..he's apparently targeting the CL Final as a return date

Ronaldo just scored two goals against Malaga, then got a red card. Player was tugging on his shirt, he swung his arm back (I don't think it was intentional) hit his nose and he got a straight red card.
That was a deliberate elbow. He needs to control his emotions before he pulls a stunt like that in the WC. http://www.tvgolo.com/football.php?subaction=showfull&id=1264370553&archive=&start_from=&ucat=41&

That player was tugging at his shirt and it led to bad things, but I don't believe Ronaldo swung his arm with the intention to struck him. It was more like waving at an annoying fly. When will we know how many games he's out for?
Depends on what the league wants. It could be a 1 game or even a 3 game suspension. 3 games is probably what it will be.
well you play soccer with your feet not your hands so arms shouldn't be waving anyway. intent or not he elbowed the other guy in the face and it seemed as if it was a reaction for being fouled. if i were a ref its a red. he needs to control his emotions he pulls a stunt like this in the WC I read on the real madrid boards it was a Ronaldo hattrick, 2 goals and a red card.
Exactly, we play footie with out feet and not our hands..but that player was obviously tugging on his shirt, I'd understand if he gave him a yellow but a red was definitely not deserved. That had nothing to do with controlling his emotions, he simply tried to get the guy from tugging him which can be a huge pain when you're trying to score and some stupid player comes behind you and keeps tugging on you.
Ivory Coast lost to Algeria. They did tie the game in extra time but Toure was ruled offside unjustifiably. However with that said, Drogba missed 2 clear one and one break aways, and Ivory Coast defense is terrible on set pieces and ball played through the air. If we keep possession, play the wide ball with 2 players who are good at heading(Ronaldo and Liedson) in the box, and allow our better crossers of the ball, Nani, Simao, Raul, Bosingwa to swing in opportunities, we should win this rather comfortably.
