As some of you are aware, I have written a book on the 2002 World Cup entitled 23 Days in Korea, An American at the World Cup. I am happy to announce that it has gone to the publisher and should be availible in early June. More details will follow. I hope that you will take the time to check it out and enjoy it. -- ---Andy Gustafson
Thanks for the notice. I try to pick up as many books as I can about soccer. This will certainly be added to my collection. (Although I wish I was able to experience it first hand. Oh well, there's always Germany 2006, which I will definitely be at.)
Be sure to put information regarding the release date in some prevelant forums to gain the attention of many. I'll definetly check it out (buy it, if it's not too expensive; not "check it out" library style).
Uh-oh, I thought that picture had been destroyed along with the others. Actually, there is a good write-up on The Valentine Motel and it's many, um, charms. Remember the round bed in my room? Of course you don't, but the book contains a picture of it! "disqualifed from political office" No, we were checking to see if it was an appropriate location for other Yanks. lol "(Although I wish I was able to experience it first hand. Oh well, there's always Germany" One of the goals of the book is to give those of you who weren't there a sense of what it was like. The parties, the atmosphere, travel, food. If you were there, hopefully it will bring back some memories.
That's Andy Mead on the left, I am on the right in the 'Skins t-shirt. The setting is the lobby of the Valentine Motel in Ulsan, site of the US-Germany match.
Ah. Well, he looks just like that guy. I'll be sure to buy the book when it comes out. It sounds interesting.
Not only do I have a photo of the bed in your room, I have a picture of the, uhm, "device" that was in your room AND the vending machine in the stairwell.
