So the 2010 World Cup will be awarded to an African nation. That's only eight years away. Doesn't that give us a good shot at hosting 2010, as the default?
Anyways, Blatter has said Brazil stand a good chance for 2014, so I'd see them as a replacement if the economy is good. Edit: This assumes they drop out early, if they drop out at the last minute then Brazil might already be a host for 2014 and FIFA would pick someone else. I'd also think Egypt or Morocco would want to be replacements for South Africa if they can't do it. Robert
