10161 Well, that's special. The Japanese team has two Eredivisie players on the pitch and the Orange Squad ZERO.
Wow, the Japanese coach has put in the left side of the midfield a French second division player, Nakamura.
Kalshi bet is 0-0 for the final score. Japan are packing everyone back and don't look dangerous at all. Maybe Weghorst is the answer.
They need to move to find open space then send through ball, try long distance shot, be better at set pieces and more clinical. Japan defended well and not giving much spaces. Passing around from left to right and back is just boring. Plenty of possessions but nothing to show for. Malen 2 good chances straight to goalkeeper. The wingers cannot penetrate as there are always 2-3 blue shirts to cover.
Practicing their passing. Wish Gakpo or Summerville would make an attempt to take the ball to the touchline.
Japan are executing their game flawlessly... sit back, absorb pressure and hit on the counter. Oranje midfield players (Reijnders and Gravenberch) need to make runs to the box and help Malen. Frenkie looks incredibly frustrated. Van Hecke has been the most solid player so far...
Frenkie’s defense is very good, watch his movement without the ball. He just does not send through ball forward much and neither Gravenberch
The goal posts have been amazingly kind for the Dutch… two wonderful goals kissing either post on the way to the net! Let’s get a third!!
They needed more pace when leading 2-1 to for quick defending, and to run on counterattack.... but then both Malen and Summerville were taken out -- and instead Memphis, Koopmeiners and Q. Timber (none was known for their speed), what?!?? That's how you lost a winnable game That said, credit to Japan. They are gritty and resolute! Played clean too. No over-the-board challenges, time wasting, etc. (BTW - Memphis yellow card was ridiculously bad, what was he doing?!? )
The one responsible for set pieces is Van Nistelrooij. Another one that was recruited as 'jobs for the boys' (and who joined the training camp late) Set pieces are a serious thing these days.
