I am trying not to get too excited here but Deossa and Cabal getting playing time and both looking decent is encouraging. At least for depth. Hopefully they are not injured come March.
I think Castano has done well every time he come off the bench. Portilla didn't do badly in the last friendly but seems like the most likely candidate. Puerta as well if he doesn't do well in the next round of friendlies Cabal at LB has a shot but at CB feel those spots are very tough to get. Mina or Cuesta he can fight a spot with but think those 2 are set in stone unless the coach shocks everyone and brings Ditta who he has started in the past. Yerson and Cristian Mosquera are the other dark horses if the 1st stays healthy and the 2nd chooses us
Not sure who he drops but Castano seems to be the main cadidate. For Cabal at LB it would obviously be Angulo.
my 26 + those on the fence / worth a deeper look. i have a tough time putting Sini on the main roster.... but i will roll the dice with Cabal... i did get a good laugh at a top 100 ranking of players for the world cup where Pulisic was ranked 39 and Lucho (our only colombian to crack the top 100) was 15
seems like a lot of forwards, id drop Borre for Sinisterra and drop Castano for literally anyone else
I would add Campaz on the fence. He has been shown a lot of favoritism by Lorenzo most of this year. Other than that I think it is pretty much spot on.
I'd consider dropping Quintero for Deossa if he works out in friendlies. Or drop one of the forwards, I'd def take Sinni and Deossa if fit probably drop Carbonero or Borre. Love Quintero but I don't think we can carry James/Quintero and Yaser, and Yaser and Deossa can play the James roll and other positions and can go 90 and defend as well. IDK I appreciate what Quintero can do when you need offense off the bench, but Lorenzo doesn't really use him all that much so maybe the roster spot is better for a guy like Deossa who can play as a 10 or 8 and can replace Rios or start.
I'd personally take a healthy Yerson over Cuesta. Cristhian is Spanish until he fills out paperwork and is officially announced.

I definitely don't think we should take those 4 strikers. We play a one striker system and none of them can play any other positions. I'd rather have guys like Sinni, Gomez on the roster since Sinni and Diaz can both play as a striker if needed and Suarez/Cordoba/Duran would be enough.
I am hoping Sini stays healthy, takes Neyser under his wing, and they both play well and combine to score many goals. That would probably put Sini on the roster and Neyser on the fence by March. Now what I am expecting is for Sini to get injured and Neyser to be played out of position.
yeah my list has a lot of caveats and we analyze to death why certain players may be a better fit. * i don't see Nestor dropping Borre outside of injury or punching a fan * i could see us going with just 3 strikers but i want to hope that Cordoba, Duran, Suarez and Cucho are all in great club form by March and again to wrap up the club season * Duran is such an interesting case bc we can see all sorts of things happening from card accumulation to scoring 5 goals in the group stage as a super sub * While i think Jhon Arias is guaranteed a spot no matter what happens to him at the Wolves, i think Yerson needs to show a solid track record of match fitness before a March call up * i want Sini to be healthy and have a consistent match fitness and get called up in March and then June - i still think the world of him but the injuries has been upsetting * just when i think Mina is done due to injury, he shows up and scores a goal to shut me up... * JFQ i didn't think he was going to help us in 2018 and he scored a potential goal of the tournament 7 years ago and fast forward to today, he is still capable of an assist/goal of the week. * Deossa / Puerta - i hope both are being tracked by the NT and i hope they can continue to get matches and be driving forces for their teams....the rest will follow * Yaser - his situation at Girona doesn't seem to be compatible and i don't know how much that will hurt his chances in March and June. * Carbonero-Gomez-Campaz-Hinestroza: i like Carbonero/Gomez the most out of this group, but i can see one or two going to the world cup. these are the kind of guys along with the Deossa-Puerta-Carrascal-Yaser of the team that will make the difference for us when we get into the 60th minute and onward each game, especially the knockout games...
