Officially an own goal but the broadcast booth is right - Lukaku scored that goal off the Egyptian's foot! Pete (just told a friend of his "it's hard to score goals if you don't make any runs" and there it was)
Lukaku was gassed about 12 minutes after coming in. Pete (supposes he's going to be a late sub all tournament)
More than a few Saudi female supporters have doffed their hijab. That Saudi goal was coming. Those are words I didn't expect to write. All the Saudi players but 3 play for only 6 different clubs.
Barely 62,000 in Miami. Capacity 64,478. Uruguay ties it up. Saudi bunkering could only continue for so long.
Well, Saudi Arabia would have to touch the ball for them to find a winner. They look tired and still have three subs to use. 15-0 shots in the second half (with 8 minutes left plus stoppage)
Not that FIFA cares, but the resale market will probably take a bath on a lot of these games, as people probably over speculated who would be willing and able to pay what for a 48 team tournament. And personally, I don’t care either, some of the people taking advantage of the resale market could use a good bath.
I actually looked to see what was available for Germany in Toronto. The lowest priced ticket was $1,600+!
Holy shit I mean at least Germany is good but lol. Important to clarify whether that’s in CAD or USD though because having just been to Toronto/Guelph 2 weeks ago I’m pretty sure $1,600 CAD comes out to around five bucks.
I know, I was being hilarious and taking a shot at our friends to the north. Everyone tells me if I have to explain my jokes then they weren’t funny, but secretly I suspect they’re laughing on the inside.
Fun first half. Way more enjoyable than Saudi Arabia v. Uruguay or, even, the Egypt v. Belgium match. Not exactly World Champion level, but both teams are trying their hardest, attacking and the Iranian fans are really into the match.
