Ok I was very in two about this poll . Normally I would say we go out in round of 16 against France - but I had decided that I am hopeful that nagelsman get is right an we beat France. 4 July, 5pm ET — Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia Winner Match 74 (Germany) vs Winner Match 77 (Group I winner — France if they top their group) Venue/heat: Open air, no roof, no AC. 5pm ET on July 4 — temperatures around 86–90°F (30–32°C) with high humidity. One of the warmest match conditions Germany will face. July 4 is also Independence Day in the US so the atmosphere will be absolutely electric and chaotic. Opponent: If France win Group I — which they’re heavily expected to do — this is Germany vs France, July 4, Philadelphia, open air, 32°C. Incredible fixture. Germany vs France, July 4, Philadelphia — heat edge goes to Germany France training in Boston: 23°C, coastal breeze, basically a European summer. Germany training in Winston-Salem NC: 30-33°C, humid, no breeze, 3 weeks of it. Philly on July 4 historically averages 31°C, hits 32°C+ over 60% of years. Open air, no roof, 5pm kickoff. France arrive thermally shocked. Germany arrive acclimatised. We will also win the Quarter Finals easier game and will make the semis against Spain.
I have predicted R16, but I agree if we can beat France then SF is possible. The worry I have v France is they have more clinical players, I think we can match them in most areas but we lack reliable finishers. It's hard to have too much confidence given how bad the recent WC performances have been. I'm not convinced by Nagelsmann's man management, but hopefully we can go back to our Euro 24 level of performance rather then the WC qualifying which looked more like Löw/Flick Matches.
Germany won't make it past the QFs, and since the previous two World Cups ended with a group stage exit, a R16 exit sounds about right.
Yeahh it’s either round of 16 or semis . French are also staying Ina hotel so they will get cabin fever and lots of drama queens so they will have lost team work . Well holding g thumbs and the weather we might just beat them .
Four days to go before we close the poll. At this point a very pessimistic outlook from this boards' fans.
Pessimistic from what point of view? I think the reasonable goal is R16 exit. What I would like to ee is some of that Teamgeist back. If we perform like we did in Euro 2024 I'll be very happy. They will play against 2 teams that are built to counter our playing style. Both Ecuador and Ivory coast are defensive, quick counter teams. It'll be interesting to see how Germany deal with them. Optimistic would be R8+, I don't think thats a reasonable possibility.
yeahh since Sane is back in the team and seeing that we are relying to much on Wirtz and Musiala I might have to change my vote.
