Regarding the bolded part of being a top 4 team on paper I don't agree at all, there's a lot of hype regarding some players, and regarding our center backs options we barely are a top 10 team.

Meh, comneshit is a farmers league. Brazil is nothing special and went 29382932-0-0 in that cesspit

    Uruguay: 8 wins, 4 draws, 6 losses.

Since the Simpsons got it right with Russia trying to restore the Soviet Union, it’s time for them to get this right in the World Cup final.

    I’m back.
As usual I get banned when Portugal wins a game. So many haters and in the other threads everyone writing us off again.

    i mean I’m
Not that confident but the changes santos made were positive. I’m excited to see how we evolve between now and Qatar.

I have to agree, I’m surprised with the last 2 lineups I do wonder what happens when Dias is fit, I personally believe for the players we have ahead of the dmid position in Bruno, Bernardo, Jota, Ronaldo, Ruben Neves is Portugal’s best number 6, ahead of Danilo Palhinha, William. His long balls are as good as anyone and his retention of the ball is extraordinary.

I agree I think Santos might have planned to use neves in that role but he got injured so went with Moutinho

I noticed too that Diogo costas kicking game helped reduce pressure on our defence and we were getting chances just from his kicks with jota , Bernardo, otavio (basically everyone) pressing except Ronaldo.

i think Santos is really changing the style now finally

TIte is expected to step down after the World Cup. Expect a Portuguese manager to take the reigns in Brazil.

We all know its coming. Brazil loves Portuguese managers these days.

I just posted my predictions in the main forum and I have Brazil losing to Portugal in the final on 18 December 2022. Then yes brazil will hire a Portuguese manager

My predicted road to the final:
We will come first in the group H
We will beat Serbia in round of 16
We will overcome Belgium in quarters
We will beat England in semis
And beat Brazil in the final

I think luck is coming back santos way just like in 2016 so we won’t get a very hard route … just liie how macedonia beat Italy .

    Mar Português

Ó mar salgado, quanto do teu sal
    São lágrimas de Portugal!
Por te cruzarmos, quantas mães choraram,
    Quantos filhos em vão rezaram!
    Quantas noivas ficaram por casar
Para que fosses nosso, ó mar!

Valeu a pena? Tudo vale a pena
Se a alma não é pequena.
Quem quer passar além do Bojador
Tem que passar além da dor.
Deus ao mar o perigo e o abismo deu,
Mas nele é que espelhou o céu.

Poema extraído do livro "Mensagem" de Fernando Pessoa.

I agree. Something different this year. I'm a fan of Boston teams and this all feels familiar. Seeing a long suffering team turn it around is unforgettable in the moment, I've been there several times. 2016 wasn't enough for me. I want the star. And I think we're going to get it this year.

The nations league games coming up are an amazing indicator as to how we will do at this world cup. If we look shit in those, i will lose all hope

Theres a higher chance of us winning the actual cup, then finishing first in the group. You must not be paying much attention if you think we can win a group with this clown. We will lose to Uruguay and scrape through in second by beating the other trash teams, probaly will draw one of those too

Personally not a great fan of Mensagem (Grand and nationalistic - religious) and prefer his more psychological-existencial subjetive poems.

Further evidence comneshit is a farmers league. Their 5th place team cannot even beat Australia to qualify. Would be pathetic if we do not finish this group 3-0-0

Neto hasn’t been the same since his injury.

I’m hoping Mendes is only out for a few weeks.

Pepe also got an injury that will keep him out "several matches"

Here's how I assess those injuries:

Neto - Not a big deal, plenty of depth in that position and not one of the best options anyway.

Mendes - We have sufficient LB cover but he's one of our best players and a game-changing talent. Would hate to see him miss out.

Pepe - Vital player. Old as dirt but still our best CB and important leader. Not a coincidence that the late breakdowns against Serbia and Spain occurred without him on the field.
