Switzerland's lineup today: Yann Sommer, Nico Elvedi, Manuel Akanji, Ricardo Rodríguez (Renato Steffen), Silvan Widmer; Djibril Sow (Denis Zakaria), Granit Xhaka, Remo Freuler, Ruben Vargas (Michel Aebischer), Xherdan Shaqiri (Dan Ndoye); Breel Embolo Highlights:
Cameroon lost to South Korea in Seoul today. Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min scored the winning goal via a header. This defeat follows last week 0-2 defeat to Uzbekistan (also in South Korea). Before then, wins vs. Burundi (1-0) and and Algeria (2-1). In fairness, Cameroon won more than it lost or drew in 2022; this was the case in 2021 as well, although Cameroon suffered a 3-match streak of losses in early 2021, with a combined 9-1 score. At this moment, Serbia is winning 2-0 at Norway, thus relegating Norway in the Nations League.. Serbia lost twice in 2022 (3-0 at Denmark and 1-0 vs. Norway at home); it drew Slovenia 2-2 in June and last week defeated Sweden 4-1. Serbia's 2021 was good, with only one defeat (1-0 to Japan). Mostly wins, and a handful of draws. Switzerland had a good 2021 as well (also one defeat, 3-0 at Italy) and mostly wins with some draws. But in 2022, Switzerland lost 4 of its 5 first matches; it has since rebounded to defeat Portugal 1-0 and Spain 1-2 (the latter match was this past Saturday in Zaragoza). And right now, it's Switzerland 2 Czech Republic 1 in the Nations League.
Serbia won 2x0, both big forwards scored. Switzerland won 2x1, including a penalty save by Sommer, who is in insane form right now. Might be the best goalkeeper in the world on current form. I'll post highlights when I can.

Nkunku out of WC as he got injured in training. Damn france is really hard ********ed with these injurys
Switzerland lost 2 x 0 to Ghana today in a pre-WC friendly. Ghana isn't a particularly strong side this year. But the Swiss did make 6 subs in 2nd half before conceding the 1st goal.
Portugal beat Nigeria 4 x 0 today in their last pre-WC friendly. Goals looked pretty well worked. Portugal is a possible R16 matchup for us if one finishes 2nd instead of 1st.
Sadio Mane is out of the WC. Big blow for Senegal who were everybody's dark horse to make a decent run.
Benzema is officially out of the WC They won 2018 with Giroud (scoring no goals), but that is a big blow for France.
Unfortunately I missed the Netherlands game. I heard the game wasn't all that. England got an impressive result, but if it was against an old and not so good Iran. But they did their job. They smashed 5 or 6 against Panama in 2018 as well.
