IIRC, Germany had 5 by half time, and four of them came in a window of something like ten minutes.

By that definition, Croatia did it in '98 when they beat definitive Whale Germany 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

I think South Korea took out Italy and Spain in '02, but that hardly counts, since they had home field advantage and a little help from their friends refereeing those matches.

Which just goes to show . . . Doesn't happen often
