They should book events at places near when & where USMNT plays in the US.

With all the USMNT drama it could have a revolving cast of characters. Like Gio Reyna could show up with his guitar with Mom & Dad egging him onstage and Gregg could say "sorry, kid. You just haven't been to enough practices" Then he sulks off and Mom & Dad go nutso.

The Reynas are a cancer. Is Gio worth a knockout round win? If not, no more callups. They can go R16 without him.

John Brooks's chances of returning went from 2% to -12%. Also, imagine the awkward conversation Pepi and GGG will have. The last time they talked, Pepi hung up on him.

After the blowback they received I don’t think they’ll try that shit again.

And Reyna was fantastic in Thursday’s game, the interim coach had the balls to try him further back in the midfield and it worked really well. Curious to see how he does against Canada, because that Mexico team was shit.

From other reports I’ve seen that was overstated, like the media took Pepi’s saying that he hung up at the end of the call and went with “he hung up on him!”

But I hope Gregg does feel stupid about not bringing Pepi, we really could’ve used another forward over one of the endless outside backs he brought and didn’t play. (He probably doesn’t.)

He played well against Mexico, they should try to work things out.

    Yay!

MOAR MLS-caliber CBS giving up the ball like a $10 whore!

Can't have the CB that helped to save Hoffenheim from relegation, ya GOTTA have MOAR Aaron Long!

Brooks played like crap for the national team in his most recent appearances, just seemed lazy. Though I’d absolutely love to see him again over Long, he must give really good foot massages or something because he’s a shit defender.

Meh, I'll trust Matarazzo's judgement over yours. Or for that matter, Berhalter's.

But don't you worry, you'll get the same eye for talent we've had for the past 4 years. Hope it works out.

I think you misunderstood, I was saying Long is a crappy defender and I don’t understand why he of all MLS players continues to get callups.

Regarding Brooks I’m not talking about his club form, because I haven’t seen him play in ages. But his performances for the national team have been very spotty. Some people perform better for club than country, maybe he’s one of them.

That wasn't a standard Mexico team, tho, as posted above.

Yeah, it wasn't clear as written. But as you elucidate here, I agree.

Since his most recent national team appearances are more than a year ago, I'd say they're not at all cogent to the discussion now.

That said, he's playing at a higher level than MLS, and was player of the month in May for Hoffenheim. I'd say that he's deserving of a look, but for Berhalter's tender ego.

Well Gio got two assists and was MOTM winning the final over Canada, so I think it’s safe to say he’s pretty darn good.

Whole team looked great in these games, lots of attacking fluidity, gonna be interesting to see if that keeps up with Berhalter back.
