I don't think the USSF can handle another suit, lol

He got them one round further than Mexico went in the World Cup. R16 is where the Mexicos and USAs of the world go home, unless they have to play each other. I'm actually over him getting Miles hurt a few years ago. And I don't think anyone else is going to get the USA another round on the regular.

Isn't he a Trumper? I wouldn't play for a Trumper, and it would help preserve me for my club.

Depending on the group we now have the players to be able to get through to the second round with any halfway decent coach (and it will be even less of an accomplishment with the new format). We played pretty well in the group stage but should've beaten Wales. And Netherlands was always going to be a long shot but having a coach who can't or won't adjust formation or tactics to counter the opponent didn't help.

Argentina’s first match in Buenos Aires after winning the World Cup. Lionel Messi in tears.

I was in tears too, I must confess.

If you're playing for Panama, you have to be thinking something like. . . "okay, let's not give up ten tonight. . . ".

Yes, but the current crop are young and have the potential to go further in the tournament. Tactically, Berhalter is not at that level.

Another way of saying this is that we should be with Mexico in dominating the confederation. Mexico has their own issues, and if not sorted out, we should be alone on top. Berhalter is not the person to get us there.

I am of the opinion that at the international level, a coach can cost you points (C.F. Klinsmann, Jurgen) but not really gain them to any significant degree. Berhalter is nowhere near that level of incompetence.

Having said that, I am also of the opinion that nobody should stay at any job for more than four years. It just breeds laziness and comfort.

Is that true? I wouldn't have thought so, considering he's reasonably intelligent and while he has a bit of an ego, I just can't see picture him having that kind of mindset. The guy speaks Italian, although that didn't stop Mussolini from being a fascist...

And Panama brought their “b” team, but it doesn’t really matter.

Just wait until the next loss, or the next currency meltdown, whichever comes first. But, we are a resilient people, we always recover.

Berhalter was out of contract. I don’t think he could sue.

Well....the USMNT, ranked #13, goes up against mighty Granada, #173, at 4:30 PT. Nothing less than a tie will do! :cautious:

Anytime we play Grenada I still think about how nice it would’ve been if Shalrie Joseph could’ve played for us.

    Day-im! I never saw that!

Well in that case, he's a total scumbag, hands down.

What's really disturbing about that is that a high profile soccer guy who's been all over the world, has been a teammate of guys from who knows how many countries should know better than to support a guy like Trump and everything he stands for. You can't play the "I'm not a racist, but I'm OK with having racists make national policy that affects all of us because I'm a rich white guy" card.
