So.. Hindsight being 20/20, I'm gonna say that Ronaldo not starting the game shouldn't have been a concern.
Because both Figo and Deco saw themselves as important parts of the team. CR7 sees the team as a part of himself. IOW, the team is there to satisfy his ego.
Yesh, he ish... I didn't even realize that Roger Moore was the elder of the two until they were both dead.
Deco was never going to be allowed to act like CR7 has done, even if he wanted to. But he was happy to be on the pitch in a World Cup. Truth, he and Figo had countrymen who knew how talented they were. Rui Costa, Quaresma, Simao, Nuno Gomes
why don’t YOU tell us what you think I meant after all projection and assumption are some of the more popular pastimes around here
Good point well made. Even a country’s second best player ever can sky a penalty under pressure. However that video was a bit fuzzy so here’s a higher definition example of the same thing:
the pony tail weighted his head too much so he was always looking up and leaning back... and every mother's child knows that if you lean back when shooting the ball will go high
Happy bday, captain Mike Windischmann Mike Windischmann knows all about the thrill of victory the and the agony of defeat, particularly when it comes to World Cup qualifying. He lived through a pair of results that spanned the opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. As a 19-year-old on May 31, 1985, the center back tasted bitter defeat with his USMNT teammates, a crushing 1-0 home loss to Costa Rica that eliminated the Americans from contention for the 1986 World Cup. "Everybody in the locker room, guys like Ricky Davis, were sitting there with their hands in their face because they probably realized that was it for them," Windischmann said. "I was very disappointed, but I was hoping to stay with the national team for the next World Cup." As the only starter from that 1985 squad in Port of Spain, Trinidad on Nov. 19, 1989, Windischmann celebrated with his teammates as the USA recorded a 1-0 win to end 40 years in the World Cup desert, booking a spot at Italia '90. "It was unbelievable," he said. "You either put your hands to your head or you fell to the ground. Oh, my goodness, we're going to the World Cup! Just hugging everybody. Going into the locker room they [Trinidad fans] were throwing beer on us. We just looked up and said, 'Yeah, we're going to the World Cup and you're not!' That was such an unbelievable feeling that hadn’t happened in 40 years.” https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2020/05/whatever-happened-to-former-usmnt-captain-mike-windischmann
Read the whole post, and note that it refers to this century, and not just right now. Also note that "top things" is not explained. Things you're most happy about? Things you're most upset about? When I first read it, I thought it was accusing Ukrainians of having a history of oppressing and killing Russians -- in other words, repeating verbatim Russia's bullshit justification for invading. Then I thought it was stupid of me to think that when the more fair thing to do was to just ask him what he meant.
ok, well said there is not one happy Slav family of nations we all have beefs with each other, and as in most families the family in-fighting is the worst we Poles have our historic beefs with Russians and Ukrainians (as I’m sure they have with us) but if you ask me to choose, I will choose Ukrainians over Russians what Putin is doing to Ukraine cannot stand It obviously endangers Ukraine but it also endangers the wider region and even the whole international order
