Tactically there are so many options. Apart from the 5-3-2 this team could play 4-3-3 with Kuyt as LW.

    or a Diamond 4-4-2

    De Jong
    Kuyt Wijnaldum
    Sneijder
    Robben RVP

    or a 4-3-1-2
    De Jong Kuyt Wijnaldum
    Sneijder
    Robben RVP

Got home just in time for the kick off. Horrible playing conditions.

Neither Mexican defender touched the ball. Both of them caught Robben. Too bad the Ref was too far behind to see.

Wow even the Mexican announcers on my feed said that should have been a penalty call for Robben!

Sure shot PK denied. Double Penalty with 2 dirty challenges at Robben which could have taken him out of the WC.

The conditions are way too hot. And loosing De Jong & a sub under 10 minutes is a massive blow

I wonder the fact that Robben often goes down too easily influenced the non-call. I'll be pretty angry if that decides this match.

The evening match yesterday was played in cool Rio. The afternoon match today is played in brutal Fortaleza. Why were the venues not reversed?

I'm not too impressed with our defense so far. Verhegh is getting beat every single time and Cillessen seems unsettled though he did make a couple of good saves. It's going to be a really difficult 2nd half.

Maybe the cautious approach in the 1st half wasn't a bad idea. It's hot and there's a lot of shade around the Dutch penalty area. The shade must make tracking the ball at bit harder for Cillissen. Losing De Jong hurts a lot. However, things should even out now that Mexico has lost Hector Moreno.

Mexico is playing tight and deep in the back. There's barely any space for Van Persie and Robben to make runs. Can't use the long pass today since Mexico is playing deep. I'd think about changing formations and bringing in Depay. Can't have this game go to extra time or penalties. Kuyt is playing sort of like a fullback anyways. Maybe go to a 4-3-3 with Robben and Depay on the flanks and Van Persie at ST.

The Dutch are struggling big time. I'm surprised the Mexican defense hasn't cracked. I thought the Dutch would have scored by now

The two non-calls on the penalties inside the box have been killer. Robben surely would have converted one of them.
