Yes. At this time I would say that the line up you got is the most likely squad.

    Boruc
    Baszczynski Jop Bak Zewlakow
    Kosowski Sobolewski Szymkowiak Krzynowek
    Zurawski Smolarek

This is Ecuador's most important game imo. Must win.

totally agree with pingudo's lineup. i dont think it makes sense to start throwing in new players into the mix in the 1st game of the WC; instead we'd probably keep most of the same starters that got us through qualifying. dont ask me why, but i have a good feeling about this game. 2-1 ecuador. any takers?

All games are important. The Bookies are actually saying tha WE must win Costa Rica to hae a chance to adbance to round two. I say they are full of it. We are winning all games. We might give Germany a tie so that they will advance. :p

Obviously they are all important Loraz, but it doesn't mean that some do not stand out. I do not expect much from Germany, however, they are the hosts, 'biggest' team, and they do have the best players, so it is understandable why they are favorites. Costa Rica should be the easiest, or least hard, game imo, a game that Ecuador SHOULD win. If that does happen, the game vs Poland will be the deciding factor.

And I will sticky this thread.

I too, think this could be the most important game. If I have to predict a result, I'd say 1-0 Ecuador.

According to this, Suarez has confirmed his starting 11:

    http://www.futbolecuador.com/noticia20048.html

    Mora
De La Cruz, Hurtado, Espinoza, Reasco
    Mendez, E. Tenorio, Castillo, Valencia
    Delgado, C. Tenorio

Who else thinks this is a solid lineup?

i like it....id like to see kaviedes instead of delgado but its an even match no matter wut...either delgado or nine will b openers but both will play in the game either as a starter or sub...

i predict a goal from tenorio, valencia and mendez

If Delgado plays, he will need Kaviedes of C Tenorio to execute.

Delgado's injury will limit his abilities. We can't depend on him as a sriker (unless he literally uses his head.....GOOOOOOOOOOOOL), however, he always brings the ball down cause he is just skilled that way plus, his height is an advantage. Tin also has great F'n passes. Paring him with C Tenorio or Kaviedes is the obvious thing to do.

The critics/experts and a lot of people out there don't see Ecuador
going far in the world cup... But I am one who sees Ecuador showing
them otherwise and making history in this world cup...
The world will finally see a team made of great players
putting our small country's name on the giant soccer map...

VAMOS ECUADOR!!! VAMOS A GANAR!!! VAMOS A TRIUNFAR!!!:)

ldu, depending on your definition, it is not wrong to say ecuador does not have world class players. you could argue that the only world class player playing today is ballack.
