First off, I apologize for posting this here, but I thought since more people browse these boards my question may be answered quicker.

In Worldwide Soccer Manager, I manage in England, but every time I sign a player on a transfer and they need a work permit, it is ALWAYS denied. I still don't know all the rules of international football. Is there someone who can explain why that happens? Thanks!

Beautiful, thanks! I was even on that website last night but I guess I didn't dig deep enough.

Those are the new rules, at the time Drogba signed for us, it was 3 years.

However, Drogba has since become a French citizen (or so I read) - so the whole permit thing for him is now moot.

How did Jay DeMerit (Watford Defensemen from Green Bay WI) get around this work permit issue? He signed a contract first with Watford when they were in the Championship, having never played on a MLS side, and never appearing for the national team. THe best he did was play with a reserve squad. When he first got to London he played for a semi pro club who had a friendly against Watford and then he got a chance. While I hope the best for him, I am curious if anyone knows how he got around this rule.
