Giraudo said today that work inside the Delle Alpi won't start this year. They are going to do something outside, but it's all being delayed until next year (again).
Here's a little theory as to why it's being held up.... Next year the Triad's mandate is up and the signals they've been receiving from the Agnelli family are not good (La Stampa reported of talks with former Juve player Massimo Mauro and former Roma GM Baldini). If they were to start the massive renovation project, it would bring the club finances deep into the red. Ideally, the Triad would like to arrive at the end of their mandate showing a black balance sheet and the cup we all want.
im hoping its for a different reason. and that is theyre not sure about the plans already in place. that theyre thinking about making it bigger. the reconstruction wont cost the team a dime. itll be a 50 year long loan that theyll make in about 10 years with all the hotels and crap theyll put up. a 40k seater like that dont cost that much anyway. especially since all the things outside the arena, like parking etc. is already in place. 10 years of those luxury boxes will probably finance the whole friggin stadium.
