Yay! Someone at NASL HQ read my post and acted on it.

"The championship"? What was wrong with soccer bowl?

When is this cup going to be finished? More importantly, will it hold 32 oz of beer?

I've heard that the goal is to present the cup to the Railhawks by the end of the spring season. There is still a lot of work to do, but the plan is in place. And yes, I have a strong feeling that you will be able to drink out of a trophy designed by supporters groups.

 

So does this mean that we won't get to see the trophy until the end of the Spring Season? What about the name at least?

 

From what I've heard within TSF, there have been more delays than expected. The name is a factor in these delays, as well as creating an entity of all supporters groups that can own and insure the trophy. I doubt it will be done by the fall season.

Min U wins the woosnam cup.

They actually secured that a few weeks back.

 

Actually I think is a cup.

The half season champions get a shield, the full reg. season champions get a cup (if the Supporters can raise enough cash to actually send it).

 

Is there a physical trophy for the Woosnam Cup?

 

I think it's currently being constructed. It was designed by the Minnesota supporters' group. Apparently they solicited design advice from the other SGs, but nobody responded, so they just did it themselves. Technically, though, every SG has a spot on the committee.

There's a thread on the cup over on Reddit. The discussion is a little hard to follow, so just look for the comment from a user called "CampaignExpert" near the bottom of the page.

Hmm, so its the North American Supporters Award now. Think they should rethink the name. Its a bit of a mouth full.

 

Nah, they can just shorten it to NASA.
