Hey! Did you see this yet? This is an excerpt from an article on the home page of MLSNet.com today about the "Soccer Saturday" lineup for 2003... "In conjunction with today’s announcement, MLS also announced one change to the previously distributed 2003 Regular Season Schedule. The switch moves D.C. United’s home match with Columbus from Saturday, October 18 to Sunday, October 19 to accommodate ESPN2. Subsequently, the Galaxy’s home contest with San Jose originally slated for Sunday, October 19 has been moved to Saturday, October 18." Looks like this trip is a little more palatable now with a travel day before work.
Start times for all games have been released: http://www.mlsnet.com/schedules/sj.html All home games at 7 pm except for 1 pm on May 31 (Sat.) and Oct. 5 (Sun.) and 3 pm on Aug. 24 (Sun.). What's happening with the home opener is still a mystery as both the Quakes and CyberRays are scheduled for 7 pm on April 19.
Oh my goodness! Rock on!!! I so wanted a big bus road trip with all the peeps!! Woo hoo! I'm in!! No need to ask, just tell me where to be. I'll also be going to the Wednesday game, as I'm planning on scheduling this year's vacation around the game!
Nothing yet, but the game can't be moved to April 12 unless the Freedom and Power can be accomodated as well... that's the only open date at Spartan... As mentioned, just have to stay tuned.
It's a marketing ploy...they figure if they can play both games simultaneously in the same facility that we'll draw all the fans of both teams, thus filling the stadium to overflow capacity.
Glad you cleared that up, Spartacus. Now, that thread we had a while back about "Chastain joining the Quakes" makes a lot more sense. (If she had, that might also have given us a hint about the draft and the Conrad trade.)
