In today's Dispatch there was also an article about WWC matches coming to Crew Stadium. One Crew official - either Jim Smith or Mark McCullers - said that WWC matches at Crew Stadium could "force" the Crew into speeding up some of their stadium improvements, such as auxiliary locker rooms, possible new press box, etc.

 

Any bets on the attendance average?

btw, just got Dave's album; like it so far....what do you think of it?

 

Dave's new album is a must have. I got my tickets to see him in Detroit in August. I think it's better than Exciter, and Ultra. Maybe Martin should've let Dave write some songs. Either way I can't wait to see one of the best performers the world has ever seen.

Check out this story about how WUSA is looking at filing for Chapter 11 at the end of the season. MLS says they aren't going to save the league. It also mentions how AEG can use the WWC to promote MLS... interesting read.

You know, I love this. Especially with how smug the WUSA was in its beginnings thinking that they could outdraw MLS and wouldn't need the help at any point since their product was in such high demand. It's one thing to have a World Cup every four years and be the home team with tons of fans rooting for you to win. It's a whole different thing to actually have a league succeed year after year.
I don't really lose sleep thinking about WUSA, cause I don't really think of it at all till I read something like this. But when I do read stuff like this I just gotta shake my head and laugh a bit.

 

let me take over the league, it'd be the highest rated show in primetime.

Each team plays in hot pants, and a belly shirt. And of course, no bras.
