The 2003 All African Games will be hosted by Nigeria (October 4-18). It is likely that women's soccer will be played by full internationals and not U23 players (like the men's competition).

Nations that are supposed to compete:

Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Ghana and South Africa.

This is big and I'll tell you why. This will be the largest sport event ever on the African continent. Take a look at these stats:

    53 Countries
    • 22 Sports
    • 6,000 Athletes
    • 1,200 Officials
    • 1,500 Journalists
    • Over 2,000 VIPs

All of them will be records. They will even have Chess. And from what I've read it looks like women will be fully participating in most of the events that are taken place. Allafrica mentions every couple of days which teams will be going in various sports as well as individuals and their sports. This should be great. Anything that can bring people together from Casablanca to East London is okay with me.
