Good match by Italian defense. The combination of high and low press is bearing fruit. Both CB's keep the door closed. On the German team, I think Freigang should play a bit higher - her technical skills are a bit wasted in her attempts to get out from Italy pressing. By playing higher she will be quicker to deliver through balls. Endemann looks pretty good, her 1-on-1 play and pk box entry attempts bring results. On the other hand, the German team looks weak on (good) crosses - no one is attacking the ball in the Italian penalty box - everyone is watching.
Equaliser. Game on. Good cross from Endemann and good header from Rauch. 2 errors by Italy defense and goal was lost.
There was an hilarious caption on German TV when Sofia Cantore was subbed-in: it read Sofia Cangoals! (Basically the -tore part in Cantore was automatically translated from German to English ).
well... Italy tactical plan from 1st half needs to land in the bin, either coach will change something or Germany will score 1-2 more. Frappart is keeping Italy in this match...
Oh my... second gifted goal... not a dream debut for GK Kudos for Italian strikers who kept pressing till the end.
Congrats Italy, in the end it's a bit lucky win (considering here some dubious ref calls rather than forced GER errors) but it's away win against top tier team none the less. Congrats.
Yeah, I second this feeling. This was a match for Germany to win: if they couldn't do that, there's no excuses, it's on them. Of course they hit the woodwork and could have been given PKs, but they also gifted two goals to Italy (who anyway had the merit of a constant offensive pressing, that forced those blunders). A nice evening for Italy NT. Cangoals was probably an omen!
Germany really deserved to win that and should probably have had 2 penalties. Anyway a good game from Italy and Guliani. It's also fantastic that Italy finaly got two such athletic forwards as Cambiaghi and Bonfantini, nice pressning on the first goal! Only thing I missed was Dragoni coming in. Can understand why she didn't come in, she can be a bit risky, but I think if Italy wants to take the next step they must play her, cause she is able to hold onto the ball and keep it in the team.
I sure can't have dreamed a so odd caption: give me a full-match video and I'm going to find it. Edit: I found it, but I don't remember I can I post here a picture that I saved on my PC. Edit 2: anyway you can look at the video below, stopping it at 1:27':58" :
Geoblocked in Germany (and half of the world including all my VPN locations) unfortunately. Looks like DFB tried hard to sell this friendly match. Can you make a screenshot please?
