No need for pessimism. They are just 3 points behind second place. Wolfsburg is 6 points behind second place and will qualify.:sneaky:

Been a while since I posted..
Hope your better now @blissett , :), seems like it by your may posts recently. You're the hero of this thread ,we need you here ;) ,as long as you enjoy it ofc, your work is much appreciated.

About the game tonight I'm not sure how to analyze it, I feel I often overestimate the strength of Juve, or maybe it is wishful thinking. One thing I didn't like about this game is that Juve looked clearly physical inferior. I had hoped Juve had come level in athleticism with the big sides in Europe, but this game showed otherwise. It feels like this Juve can only play attacking football, the Juve of 2021-2022 would have kept the score lower and maybe even grinded out a draw, but I like the new Juve, I like that they're trying to be ambitiuos. Question is if they need a plan b against this kinda opposition?

One thing that baffled me a bit was that Canzi left out Krumbriegel in the lineup. For me that sent the wrong message, but maybe she's not fully fit still. When she came in I think she provided positivity and forward going, . Ofc Juve let in 3 goals after she came in, so maybe she has some defensive deficits, but I think Juve kinda checked out after 2-0. She brings the right kind of attitude, got the best athleticism in the team and she is the kind of player Juve needs to take the next step, I never wanna see her on the bench.

Looking at the forwards, I felt like the trio up front didn't connect to each other and the team. I wonder if Vangsgaard needs some more playing time, to me she's felt a bit lost in the last month or so, while she was really strong at the start. Maybe Canzi should start her more instead of Girelli to give her more confidence, even though it's often tempting to start Girelli, as she always provides.

Juves season is still a lot more positive than negative, this was actually their first big letdown. I just got a bit depressed seeing Juves CL-dream got crushed in such a fashion at home, plus their fans almost seemed to be outnumbered by the Arsenal fans, yuk . On a positive note ,Cascarino must be applauded, she was the clear MVP for Juve in this game, such big steps shes taken this season! Lastly Boattin often seems to struggle one-one against fast forwards. Maybe Lindsey Thomas or Barbara Bonansea are better choices if Juve is gonna play with 3 defenders against this kind of opposition.

Good thing after this game is that there is three more games for Juve to try their best against top opposition. Let's hope for Roma next game , they can only proove me positively!

My posts will sure come and go for another while: I managed to put my hands on my laptop, but I am still hospitalized in a rehabilitation center, so the ones who appreciate my contribution to this thread will need to be patient in the months to go. I'll do what I can. :ninja:

I guess the last point you mentioned could be true, about her fitness. Lisa Boattin herself could be still in a phase of recovering from an even longer previous injury.

Anyway, you're probably right that Juventus is not yet there with the rest of the opposition by a physical point of view.

Can someone else post the highlights of yesterday's game here? it's not that I miss my physical strenghts: I miss the moral ones. :p

By the way, I go to bed quite early these days, at the hospital, so I'll most likely miss almost the whole of tonights' match, since it starts at 21:00.

6 points against Galatasaray and a win by two goals against Roma should be enough for Wolfsburg.

As I mentioned, I won't be able to follow the Roma-OL Champions' League's game. These are anyway the official starting line-ups :coffee::

ROMA: Ceasar; Di Guglielmo, Linari, Minami, Thøgersen; Giugliano, Kumagai, Greggi; Haavi, Giacinti, Glionna.

OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS: Endler; Svava, Renard, Gilles, Carpenter; Horan, Egurrola, Marozsán; Chawinga, Dumornay, Diani

Roma's line-up looks solid. :coffee: Unluckily, OL's one looks even more solid.

We're going to see; maybe only Roma's gamble is starting Benedetta Glionna, instead of Evelyne Viens or Giulia Dragoni. She anyway seems in a good moment, currently, let's see if starting her will somehow pay. In the end, even just a draw would be a precious outcome for the Italian side. :alien:

Edit: it's interesting that, since the last league game, Swiss Eseosa Aigbogun is back at being an option from the bench after a long ACL injury.

I greatly appreciate @Lohmann choosing Kumagai's avatar tonight, despite Roma being a direct rival in the group! :notworthy:

Missed the game. Not too surprisin result given how Roma has looked this season, I had greater hopes in Juve. A bit worrisome with Dragoni getting a slight injury, after Pilgrim went out earlier, two omissions that greatly affected my desire to watch this game. A bit strange move of Spugna to not start with Viens and even not sub her in, what's that about? Glionna hasn't set the world on fire in a while

Got a bit the feeling this Roma has passed it's peak, maybe they will fight a hard battle for the 3rd spot even. Anyway this game doesn't tell so much about Roma's quality, Lyon was always out of reach, but the next game against Lazio is extremly important for Roma...
