actually (att: 7025) for POL - AUT with more than 9k tickets sold. I guess light rain and cold weather tonite in Gdańsk kept this match from beating the record (8449)
One of the biggest results for Poland in recent years, they previously lost 3-1 to Austria earlier this year.

I watched the Norway game like I usually do, it was incredibly one-sided. Northern Ireland had about 20% possession throughout the game, Norway completed over three times as many passes and Northern Ireland only had two shots or so for the entire game, neither of them on target.
SERBIA 0 - 2 SWEDEN Bennison 54', Kafaji 70' (att: 2 939) - possibly new WNT record UKRAINE 0 - 2 BELGIUM (played in Turkiye) van Kerkhoven 21', Wullaert 90'+3 (att: 312)
Expecting Sweden and Belgium to qualify as they both won 2-0 away. Norway of course having destroyed Northern Ireland 4-0 away. I think the other four ties could go now any way with three draws and Austria 1-0 down to Poland. More competitive games than I expected.
Portugal and Norway become the first teams to officially qualify for the Euros, Caro Hansen scored her 50th goal for Norway as they beat Northern Ireland 3-0.
Finland qualify again while Poland qualify for their first ever Euro, eliminating Austria 2-0 over two legs.
Belgium has the chance to get in Pot 3 (with Netherlands, Sweden and Norway) after Austria is out. Poland and Portugal in Pot 4.
PZPN (Polish FA) was very much hoping for the senior women's team to qualify for the EURO in Switzerland.... and has spared no expense in recent years to make this happen. Combined with Poland's hosting of the U19 Euros in 2025 and the U20 WWC in 2026, the association is hoping for a wider popularisation of women's football in the country. I could be wrong, but I believe that over the next few years, the national team's matches will start to regularly attract more than 15,000 fans. Starting in 2019 PZPN has made quite a few positive reforms in women's football in Poland and the first effects of this are slowly starting to appear. As a reminder, the Poland U17 team reached the quarter-finals in the WWC U17 this year.... and let me tell you it was no accident.
Poland and especially Czech Republic are slowly but surely building a real women football culture with their national teams, I saw it when I was in Hradec Kralove last year for a Czech game.

So happy to see Norway playing well as a team and so happy to see Synne Jensen back on team and scoring If they all stay healthy and Sophie Haug is back, Norway could be a threat in the July championships!
It would be about time, nearly all tournaments in the past 15 years or so have been utter disappointments.
Easy to forget, but that 15 years period started quite brightly with semi-final in the 2009 euros and final in the 2013 euros, with teenagers Graham Hansen and Hegerberg in the squad. Nice btw with Poland qualifying. About time with an eastern europan team in the competition again, even though I know poles hates to be called eastern europan
Yes it started well but it also included a Euro tournament with 0 points and 0 goals scored as well as another Euro tournament with a record 8-0 loss against England. I've been following Norway for a while now and except for the 2019 World Cup it's been a while since they've had a decent run in a tournament. Poles are the definition of Eastern European, nothing wrong with that. As an Eastern European, it's nice to see Poland qualify for the first time after Russia and Ukraine had previously done it.
