nah..... we have nine games to come out of a 3 out of 4 team cluster with 3 points to make up on a Man Utd team we are better than. If it was only 5 games left I'd maybe agree. FA Cup after the 5th round is always big fun to be in though!
Didn't see the game (3am KO here). What did you guys think of Rio's performance? That 69 mins is the longest he's been on the pitch for us.
He had several opportunities and did well…better than Gakpo - in that he’s not as predictable, but no better results (goals/assists) Fun one to watch, though…he did get bumped off the ball/out of his space a couple times…
Gakpo did a pretty decent job though the middle. I really wouldn’t mind seeing him and Ekitike swap roles. Given how much our left winger gets on the ball and how little Cody has done with it, I would like to see Hugo there. Give him more opportunities to impact the game. Let Gakpo just be a facilitator for Ekitike and Salah. Klopp really liked the idea of Gakpo at centerforward, but Slot hasn’t. If Hugo is playing well off the left, it makes it an easy transition for Isak to come back. The other option is to keep Hugo central and just play Rio. Whether Rio deserves to start and whether he should start are two different things. He’s the best left winger we have right now. I don’t think there’s a question about that. But I also think we need to be careful with him, and the club is doing the right thing handling a 17 year old with care.
This is quite a statement. For any club even, outside of Liverpool. I like Rio but haven't paid mind to Nyoni.
I am not sure a lot of people share the same sentiment. Very few players in the world can compare to Ryan's total package. They may have one but not the other, Ryan does it all, Nonyi is turning into a very good player. He does not possess Ryan's ability to turn, dribble or carry the ball up the field, IMO.
