Sat 4 July 2020 Molineux Stadium USA TV: NBCSN 12:30pm ET If we have any hopes of playing in Europe next season this is absolutely a MUST WIN. But this will probably be our toughest test since we opened up at ManCity. Since the restart Wolves have 3 wins in 3. And they’ve had a really good and largely consistent season near the top of the table. We sit 7th while Wolves sit 6th tied on points with ManUtd. BUT there’s a gaping 6pt margin between us and those two. I wish I could offer a good omen about this one, but that'd be lying. In fact, I made the thread for this fixture last year and it didn’t go well. They gave us 70% possession, gave us 1 shot on target, which we scored. But we gave them 3 shots on target and they scored all 3. Clinical! The main hope I can offer is that we’re a completely different outfit this time around, starting with the most important factor: Arteta not Emery. Come on boys, win one for your Yank supporters on our big day!
Tough game, we need to keep the 343 and similar line up to the Norwich game but I would drop bellerin and play amn and sokratis if fit as a cb ...................auba .........saka...........Pepe Tierney..xhaka..ceb.....amn ......sok.....luiz....holding .................Martinez
Would be thrilled with a draw. Know Wolves will be going all out as they fight for possible Champions League spot, which I think would be great. (Especially if it came at expense of ManU.) As alluded on another thread midfield play will be critical. Have to protect the defense.
We have 2 more little bits of motivation to get all 3pts Saturday: 1) Sheffield's victory puts them a point above us, pushing us down to 8th 2) Spurs were their victims and so they still sit 1pt behind us in 9th, and if we win that gap would be 4pts I will NOT be happy with anything but a win.
A surreal Independence Day stateside but it is matchday, as well, so that's a bit of fun for the occasion. Hope the lads are up for the contest. Not sure Arsenal can tighten up defensively but if they can I'd love to see them keep the Wolves attack narrow. Eliminate their wide play and force Traore and Co. to work through a crowded midfield. Make the game ugly in the Arsenal third and be opportunistic on attack. C'mon you Gunners!
I forgot it was July 4th and decided to walk to the post office rather than drive. Oh well - a nice 45 minute walk in the heat is good for me.
Same formation as the last match. Cedric for Bellerin Eddie for Laca Saka for Nelson Torreira on the bench, still no Ozil or Guendouzi.
Nah, I still hope Wolves might catch Manu in the standings. How about they just have a bad day today.
