    FT WOL 0-2 ARS

We were clearly superior, and the scoreline just barely reflected that. But that's OK, 3 points was our overwhelming objective.

Leo's goal was great, even if a bit toe-pokey. Martin's was sneaky & deserved. But I might just give an honorary MOTM to Raya who had some key saves, one of which was fantastic and game saving. And Kai was a force too.

But overall credit to our XI today... toughed it out, on very tired legs, rose to the occasion, produced the response we needed after defeats in EPL & UCL.

Plus Paul Tierney didn't fvck us over this time... something I wasn't so sure of when I saw his name right before KO.

    Onward...

I was just thinking that. I don’t think they’ll be given 2 days off, but how about one? tomorrow?

and they played Saka the full 90 again. Sigh.

today’s performance was fine, if this match took place 2 weeks ago, folks would be very content with it. But the prior 3 have fans beat down.

This fixture had banana peel written all over it, so to come away with 3 points is great.

Should’ve been red for Kilman. That’s a terrible challenge.

Doherty actually fouls Jesus. I’d be really curious if they’d have given us a pen if Trossard doesn’t score there.

Martinelli will probably start for Trossard. Could see Jorginho start against his old club. Does Arteta go with Zinchenko at LB assuming Tomi isnt fit to start? Gotta assume the other 8 starters are the same.

Lee Dixon would have spent the entire 2nd half insisting a RB can't commit a penalty.

Can someone explain the yellow card for Kilman? That foul happened, play continued, then Rice fouled and got a yellow. Ref went back and gave one to Kilman. Why, if it was yellow card worthy, would he not have blown play dead for Kilman’s foul?

edit: I guess advantage was played? But then why didn’t the whistle blow once Arsenal lost the ball and advantage over? Seems like Rice got a yellow for nothing.

    in terms of general
Play, Jesus looks better with martinelli there due to the option to play in a faster guy

the goal was pure luck lol

Lucky but far from pure luck. What Jesus did from being on the floor impressed me. Then Trossard had to shoot very quickly, which shows intelligence and skill. Later, he said, he consciously knew he was going to have to toe-poke it because of that.

Yup. I think we’re just in an every-other-game cycle with Jorginho in April.

Yeah, but at least Chelski had to expend a lot of effort to lose today.

He's horrible. I've come to genuinely detest when he's the commentator on our match. Smudger at least is fair if a bit harsh. Dixon is just a dick....son.

Yeah I used to like him a bit… I think. Now I just think he’s tedious and adds no value. Although my opinion of Lesaux isn’t a ton better. Those two guys are the weakest part of NBC’s entire cadre of analysts.

Bingo, on a different site for a different sport the running gag we had was "this is the type of game we lose".

This used to be the type of game we lose, it isn't anymore. Great win.

Decent banter from Wolves fans. Our #4 seemed to appreciate it.

Lots of noise from the Wolves fans, maybe if the spent the game hyping up their own boys instead of coming after ours they wouldn't have left with nothing.
