Haven't started a match thread since (checks notes) January 2006 (7-0 victory over Boro), so lets ********ing go

USA: 2:30 PM EDT/9:30 AM HST

No idea what the line up will be, but a two goal win will be happening

Hmm... I guess you didn't read the last MD thread. I had signed up and had just written my thread-opening post, and just as I was about to hit post, your alert popped up. :p

Oh well, I guess you owe me a beer now! (for my time lost) Plus you better bring us a win!! ;)

Wed-Sat turnaround with Wednesday being an away game in Europe - not expecting much.

    1-1.

I think we will draw with Wolves and Chelsea, lose to spurs and United, and beat Everton and Bournemouth. These teams are all going to be well rested while we are going to have to drag ourselves across the finish line.

OK @Bluto11 I take it back, you don't owe me a beer. Here's roughly what my opening post was gonna be...

Well here we are. Maybe not too unexpectedly, down to one competition. So it’s simple. Just 6 games left in our season. The true run-in begins Saturday at the Midlands.

L-L-D in our last 3 matches means it’ s that old pick-yourself-up-dust-yourself-off cliché (I’ll spare you the youtubes this time). But just how simple is that to do?...

We’ve seen some very tired bodies and minds in these 3 games, and apparently a lack of broad trust in our backups. So it’s a big big test for this manager, for this team, to be motivated and to execute.

But like many of us on this board have tried to do, they should try to have perspective, see the forest for the trees... about where we have come as a team.

Just a few years ago our goals were Top 4 & St.Tott’s Day. After just 32 games, those are all but done deals. And we currently sit 2 points off 1st place with the best GD.

I’m not going to mention who’s in 1st place or who’s our opponent this weekend. Fvck those guys, maybe just start the next match with the handbrake off and start scoring goals again!

I assume this tweet is Arteta’s response to a question about Timber’s availability. Timber’s name isn’t mentioned anywhere in the tweet.

I believe so. Sorry, I swear it said something about Timber in the tweet this morning.

Just heard Rebecca say that Wolves may have to play a 15YO who had to miss science class this week to train with first team. Would it be foolish of us to say bring him on?!

I mean I know a few who scoffed when Everton brought some young lad on back in the day against us named Rooney and look what happened there...

Assuming Havertz will be in midfield again, since it's worked so well before.

Official twitter account says Tomiyasu left out as a precaution due to a knock vs Bayern.

What choice does he really have? Jorginho can’t really play every three days.

Concerned that Tomi didn’t even make the bench!

I'd rather play ESR in midfield and Havertz up top.

I get the argument of having Kai at 9, but then it's either ESR or Trossard at L8. Not so attractive to me.

I think this is a first half line-up and if it's not working we'll probably see the switch to Kai up front.

OR... we don't really know where the players are actually going to be playing this half, as much as we think we do? Let's just see.

Jesus will score today. My youngest had his first AYSO game, wearing number 9. First goal a minute in. I should mention he’s 4 and there are no goalies. :D

5' Kai to Jesus who shoots anemically wide. Rather unconfident looking. BUT it only takes one to go in. So keep trying!
