"It WILL be Josh Wolff to Kansas City for high draft pick.

KC want to hold back the announcement until after the Draft, but it doesn't look like they will be allowed to. Should be announced (even though it's done) tonight UK."

WTF! What good does it do if you announce it at the draft? Announce it now and then bring him to the draft so people can see him!

    yep.

i totally agree with you. Treat the draft like other teams do. They make a spectical of it - and it works. They televise the entire NFL and NBA drafts, why? because people will watch the moves, etc. IF you bring Josh Wolff in and tell the KC media about it ahead of time and make it out to be the big deal that it is, we might just get some more coverage. Bring him, have a press conference for like 10 people, i dont care, treat it like it matters. MLS can't ac like a third rate league or it will be treated like one. Josh Wolff scored goals for the US nats that helped us go to the World Cup, he scored a dazzler against Mexico in what I consider our best qualifying game for the last world cup and the first time we forced Mexico to play in front of OUR fans. Wolff has speed and skill and if we can just keep him healthy he will be an amazing compliment to our team. All of this could be told to KC media if he shows up and we make a big deal out of it. He isn't Ronaldo, but then again KC isn't Real M.

    Disagree.

If the trade DOES involve the 1st round pick, I would think that announcing now that KC has given away its draft pick would decrease local interest in the draft. Sure, people would be excited about Wolff, but they would be whenever the trade is announced. Bring fans and the media in expecting a draft announcement (well some people are going to know, but not everybody), and then drop the trade bomb on them.

I have visions of "Kansas City (roar from the crowd) is on the clock".

"There has been a trade. Kansas City sends their first round pick to Chicago in exchange for forward Josh Wolff."

Who says you can't fly Wolff in anyway? I would be much less interested in going to the draft if KC wouldn't have any first round action.

Peter Wilt just gave a run down of Chicago's lineup for the coming season... "Rodrigo and Ante up top"

Said that the Fire made a couple moves before the deadline that haven't been announced...one will be announced tomorrow.

My understanding is that SA MLS Confidential indicated that it is Wolff to KC.

I think the idea of not covering the trade until the draft is silly. It does mean (by announcing then) that it looks like you're players instead of on the sidelines. And yes, it would involve the first round pick--that's really the reason why Chicago would make that deal. The rumor is that Capano will enter the draft and they want him.

As for keeping Wolff healthy, well, there's a first time for everything. He's fast, young, technically solid, superb runs off the ball and his disk to Reyna against Mexico in the WC shows his vision and passing ability. But he has never led his team in scoring, has never played a full season in MLS and I think the max number of goals he's scored in a season is 10 (is average is around 7 a season I think). And he makes the max. Maybe this will be a breakout year for him.

They already have Capano - they drafted him last year.

That solution is easy. Announce now "Josh Wolff has been traded to the Kansas City Wizards but the details of the trade are not yet finalized."

    Great news.

What's the situation on Wolff's injury recovery?
Will he be ready to go full at season's start?

Yep, my error. I meant to say Mike Magee. If I remember correctly, Magee, Mapp and Capano played on the same U17 team, Magee and Capano were on the same youth club team.
