    High noon at Arrowhead.

Columbus coming off a 1-0 home victory over That Evil Black Team. The Crew's record so far is 1 win, 3 ties, no losses -- sounds like the year they won the Supporters Shield! ('04?)

Will Schelotto play? Crew fans seem to think he may come on as a sub, but not start.

No word yet on Marinelli's or Sealy's match fitness.

We beat DC 4-2 away while the Crew only managed a 1-0 home win. With that common denominator, and the game being in KC (where Columbus hasn't won since '05), and if either/or Marinelli or Sealy is ready to go, I see a Wizards win this Saturday, 2-1.

let's assume it's sunny... let's assume i consume many more beers on a saturday morning than on a wednesday evening... let's assume that the wizards are the same team as the last few games...

5-1 wizards... and a true goal of the week from JJ on a rocket shot from 25 years out...

sunny, folks... it needs to be sunny and warm... let's do this...

Don't forget it's Cinco De Mayo meaning everyone gets free shots of tequila in the parking lot, Dos Equis, Corona, etc... will rain from the sky on to our salted lips and limed tounges. Aspirin and Advil will be handed out as the sponsor trinkets for the game so that they will be put to immediate use the next morning.

I think the Crew should bust out a special Jose Cuervo sponsored jersey on this day. That would be cool. I would buy it.

So if I'm correct, I will not be able to exchange one of my other half-season tickets for this game, right? I'm pretty excited about this one, so I may be out anyways, who knows...

Columbus will need to contain EJ if they want to win, or even tie possibly - considering they have to get past _both_ JJ and Hartman... oh and not to mention Garcia and a guy we know as the Groin. Of course I haven't had the opportunity to see them play yet, so my predicition should be taken with a grain of salt...

Marinelli will play, Sealy still out... I'm actually hoping for early morning rain - just enough to make the field fast.

    Wizards 2 - 0 Columbus
    Harrington 33 (Johnson, Marianelli)
    Johnson 86 (Arnaud)

How soon will we know if Scott and Carlos are ready to play on Saturday? It would be great to have at least one of them available......

don't forget the reserve match is right after this game. I believe we'd be allowed to stay for it but I'm not positive.

what set me off was that the crew beat fc dallas 3-0. not a regular season game but still. i always saw dallas as better but i guess they are not doing so hot this year.

    3-1 wizards

    jose, marinelli, arnaud

i dont even care who scores theirs.

but i have a good feeling about this one. we are doing well this season. nobody contradict me.

I thought I'd seen somewhere that it was gonna be at arrowhead after the first team game, guess I was wrong.

Never mind, please ignore my last post.

I'm not sure which way this game will go, Columbus has only given up 2 goals so far this season and they were both to the Revs but we've scored 9 so far this season. I'm pretty confident we'll win I'm just not sure if it'll be a 1-0 or a multiple goal win. Also their only away game so far this season was a 0-0 draw @ RSL. I'd love to see us score 2 or 3 goals against a team that's done pretty well defensively to start the season.

I'm betting Marinelli is ready to go and will start with Sealy coming off the bench. I think we'll go with the same starters as the Toronto game.

When I bashed the morning start time a few days ago, I forgot it was on Cinco de Mayo. I think attendance will still be down, but hopefully the holiday and nice weather (knock on wood) will bring better than I had originally thought.

2-0 KC...would have said 4-0, but I went to HS with the Crew's keeper (Greunebaum, he's from KC)...so, I have to give him a little respect.

I know your comment was tounge-in-cheek, but this is not last year's Columbus squad. They've gotten considerably better at virtually every position from when we swept them last year. 4-0 could happen if everything goes our way, but I'm in no way calling for it. I've been impressed with the play of the killer G's this year, Gonzalez, Grabavoy, Gaven, and Gruenebaum.

ok, 1-1 through about 70 min, then EJ goes nuts and scores 2 in the final 20.

    3-1 KC

    17 Jose
    42 Some Cbus
70 Eddy (marinelli, Rookie of the year)
    83 Eddy (Davy)

we get lots to cheer about 2nd half.

I am going to post this again since I have not heard from anyone:

As I will not be at the game on 5/5 (in Topeka for Gov Cup tourney), I need to make plans for someone to swing by my house no later than Thursday evening to pick up the Cauldron Banner, Striped Flag, Flag pole, stand, & sand bags. If we want these at this 5/5 tailgate and game, someone needs to contact me.
