I would like to go to the watch party just to hear what CJ and Lamar have to say and maybe get a few questions in. I have to take care of Madison becuase Lisa has a meeting tomarrow night so I can't go. So I will be at home listening to the US game via the internet. I am going to record the wiz game.
FT 0-0 Gomez hit the bar in the second half. Bo came in for the second half and made two good saves. Burciaga and Conrad looked very solid at the back. Impressive display by Jewsbury I thought. But on the whole, fairly uneventful.
Yawn, Brownie had a good chance but headed the ball down and right at the keeper. Cisco also had a chance late hit it on the volley instead of imo taking the ball into the area then taking the shot. Defense looked good. Bo played well but he gives up way to many rebounds.

I taped it and watched it in :20 over lunch. KC didn't look impotent and dominated physically. Preki was class. Tony looked bored (good thing). Bo had a few quality saves. The draft pick, Towet? I know that isn't it, he had one opportunity and instead of laying it to a wing and charging a post, he dribbled central into 4 defenders and his pass was picked. KC was a bit slow overall, but most of SS were 130 lb. little guys. Quill subbed early for a slight injury. KC controlled possession and had little trouble on the defensive. Hopefully depth will not be a problem. No panic yet. Last years' team went undefeated in the pre-season, scored in bunches as did LA. Post game comments of note: Burciaga MOTM and was given 1000 bahts? , 8.5:$1. Not bad. SSU coach: They were more physical and had possession on us. Gansler: "This time of year the offense is behind the defense..." , "we're happy at the back", we created more chances today, but are not happy overall up front, "obviously, the focus will be goals in Cape Town.", "SS United were very gifted on the touch", the country's beautiful, everything is top notch, having fun, etc.
I laughed as the pbp guy asked Sean how the draw would be proceved by the fans back in KC. Sean's response was "well this is pretty much Gansler ball."
Interesting to point out that David Testo from North Carolina was in for a trial and didn't look to bad. He was paired up top with Davey Arnaud and I thought Testo was the more effective of the two. It would be interesting to see more of him.
In the two games I have seen in SA I have been most impressed by Burciaga. I am excited about him being in the lineup this year. He is fast and looks like he is under control all the time and does not seem to panic under pressure.
Pithy... As my coaching instructor said, "It's much easier to destroy than create" so for the defense to be ahead of the offense is to be expected. I can't wait to see how our offense will look when you introduce Klein and Wolff to the starting XI. Depending on who BA calls into camp for the Japan friendly (if we have it) on the 29th, we may not get to see that until the Tulsa exhibition. (Which, BTW, there are still tickets for... )
And yet, three years ago we were pumping in preseason goals with some unknown player named Miklos or something.... The offense seemed to be working fine then.
